Film & TV / Re: Mad Max in Scotland: Doomsday....

Looks very good indeed :)
But why don't they send in massive numbers of troops rather than 3 people in a camper van? ;)

Film & TV / Re: Torchwood 2

I thought it was fairly good but the whole gay/bi/mad for sex stuff that is slapped on and in as many scenes as possible is getting even more annoying.
I'd have no problem in the right moment (Ianto and Jack in the last season made sense) but theres no chemistry and no sense behind practically any of it.

Liking the look of some of the effects in the rest of the season and good actors too.

I posted a comment but once you've done that it does say:

General / Free downloads of 2000ad PDF
13 January, 2008, 05:46:19 PM
Well that's what it says in The Mail on Sundays Live magazine.

'The comic is now available free in digital PDF format every week from either 2000adonline.com or clickwheel.net. The digital version comes out one week after the paper comic goes on sale.'

I wonder how many people will go there and be surprised at being asked to pay £1.50?

Apart from that it's a good article. Want to see 2000ad looking great? Use an iPhone apparantly.

Help! / Re: Rights as an employee............

Another problem with unions is that their major weapons, eg strikes are absolutely no good if the staff going on strike for a day or two will have no effect on anything.
Great if you're a nurse, or fireman or policeman but no use for non-teaching scientists for example. Same goes for picket lines, great in busy public areas like hospitals but useless if you are tucked away in a residential street or within a larger site not normally accessed by people.

Not that I've got any problems (I work in a great place) but it's one of the reasons I've not joined a union.

Going back to the op the point on:
-He'll ask you to work miles from where you live, even though you don't have a car.-

Is that part of your job? If it is then even if there are others that can do it it's probably allowable. In fact it could be used to show that your job needs reevaluating. Mind you they normally get out of it by having 'all other duties as required' on a job description.

Off Topic / Re: HD-DVD v Blue ray

You've obviously been lucky as I've not had all of my gadgets last that long. Some (old digital camera still works) but I've gone through a couple of mp3 players in the last 3 years.
TV sets too, I had a perfectly nice 28" CRT just go funny on me a bit after it's warranty ran out, something the flat screen CRT in my bedroom hasn't done and it was bought around the same time. Luckily enough I won a 26" LCD tv and thats working very well for me so far.

General / Dan Dare book from Revolver in FP
27 December, 2007, 07:39:01 PM
I saw a new GN in FP and Borders today that collected the Revolver Dan Dare stories as well as other artwork that looks familiar so was in revovler or 2000ad.

But I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called. I do remember it probably has the word tomorrow in the title and it was about £20.

Any help would be appreciated!

Film & TV / Re: New Superheroes film teaser......

Sounds interesting and I guess a more realistic view of what would happen if you had real superheros (everything has a consequence) but I guess the only way the story can go is to rehabilitate him and he'll be in a costume by the end of the film.

I downloaded it and £1.50 was a good price for the Christmas special. But there is no way on earth I can see myself downloading it regularly. When I'm on holiday with my laptop perhaps but why bother the rest of the time?

And as for back issues price is vital. It won't be all issues (therefore a one-off price) it'll be slowly going backwards and some vital progs, the Zenith ones for example ;)
I can't see Rebellion selling them for a price low enough to make it worth my while.
Especially as I have a lot of them bittorrented anyway from when the digital versions came to nothing a few years ago.

Is good but I'm happy with my normal printed prog for now thanks :)

If you don't put a price then people might just assume it's free.
In fact that ad basically says that. Go to Clickwell to download the issue and fill in the online questionnaire. Or is that just the first one maybe?

But it doesn't actually say, thats the thing.

Mind you this is a good thing for when I'm on holiday in the US next year and want to keep up :)

That 7th page is what is making me think I might take an interest in this series.

Exceptionally stale. As soon as they stayed in the prison I gave up.
If it got interesting again I might re-start buying the collected editions instead of ocasionally flipping through copies in Borders and FP.
