Is there any hold up with the limited?

There's a note on the shop at the moment: "Current high sales volumes may lead to some delays in shipping, though our staff are working hard to make sure that these are short as possible"

Thanks. So no delay on those that pre-ordered the limited edition over a month ago.
just normal malarkey in getting them out.
Cool. Thanks for the update.

I prefer to support the 2000 AD on line store where I can but what I don't understand about it, is that it is often more expensive than say Forbidden Planet.

FP also discount their books across the board, not as heavily as Amazon but sometimes practically to the level of cost, which unfortunately is something we can't do.

Is there any hold up with the limited?
I really don't care but I'd rather not have to wait in for the postman everyday.

Anyone else still waiting? I ordered the limited edition (really wanted the Dan Dare Poster Prog and this seemed like a sensible way to get it) and its still to show up. Am I just being impatient and others are still waiting? Have any of the limited editions arrived yet?

In the same boat.
Still not received mine.

I can only echo many on this thread.
The only time I have gone to a comic shop in the past few years is for the FCBD and specifically to pick up the 2000 AD issue (internet is cheaper and easier).
Now I have no reason to go to one, which involve being in a car for an hour. Because of the journey I usually tried to make it worthwhile and spend around £50 in the comic shop.
No need to now.
Glad we'll be seeing the special though.

Mine arrived and I didn't think that the covers worked well, unlike the previous lot.

I agree.
I also note with (mild) interest that the back cover of today's Prog features a variation on the cover of 'Target: Judge Dredd', which I prefer.

Yep, mine has arrived too.

Bloody postman  :(

Fingers crossed for tomorrow then? It's worth the wait...

I can wait. Ordered the bloody thing a month or so ago anyway.
I'm sure it will be brilliant when it arrives  :D

News / Re: Bisley 'variant cover' for Crimbo

That is the worst cover I've have ever seen!!!!! and it belongs in the nineties grud dammit! (which were rubbish, by the way. the comic not the decade...Which was pretty shit as well, now I think about it). But it's nice to see him working for 2000 AD again. Needs more female butt cheeks though.

Happy now?

This is a shame, in my opinion.
Some of the 'New 52' stuff (and not all, by no means) is superb.
Too many Batman titles is a problem, and the quality if 50% is questionable.
I still despair at comic fans *almost* pleased that a company or a title is failing though.
This goes against the grain as far as I'm concerned.
The more, the more diverse, the merrier.

Wow!
I would have thought that the implications of the owners of Superman and Batman losing money and, possibly, going under would have been a bad thing.

Personally I'm a big Supes and Bats fan so the thought of any comic producer, especially as a comic fan in general, is a horrific prospect to consider.

'Any old tosh'? Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I want comics to prosper, and I think Marvel, DC, and Rebellion are doing a great job.

I imagine, by the sounds of things, I stand alone.

Which makes me sad for me and for the industry.

As long as it's fun, is my mantra. And 'Hush', for my money, is fun enough.

I have never read Action ( a bit before my time) but when i first started reading 2000ad in the late 80s I used to pick up fleetway annuals and "specials" in my local Boyes stores (a discount department store in the North East) one of which was the big adventure book (it was big too  for an annual a whopping 224 pages) which contained the complete (i think Hookjaw and Dredger among others, great cover I wish i stilll had it

I've got one of these. First 49 pages are Hook Jaw. Followed by Dredger on pages 50 to 55. Then The Lout That Rules The Rovers fro, 56 to 77. One page of Gang-Smashers and then One Eyed Jack from 79-84. The Black Crow runs from 85-117 before we get our second does of Dredger from 118-120. Another one page Gang-Smashers then The Steel Claw from 122-163 then it's back to dredger from 164-166. Whiz-Along Wheeler then goes from page 167-205. One Eyed Jack is back from pages 206-223 and the end of the book.
Great annual.
