A 100 page photobook retails for about £90
i doubt anyone ever pays that as voucher/ deal sites offering 60% off bring the price down to £35 ish a book.
So I've just hung out for deals.
Obviously its still a lot of cash for 3 but I've enjoyed hours and hours of scanning, dtp and proofing so its kind of an evening class in one. Probably six weeks at nights to do 320 pages.

Too much scanning / iPhoto
But I'm really pleased, its the first 18 month DD from new Eagle
All the Ian Kennedy spreads match up without gutter loss
and I know some people on here are passionate about the spines!

Sorry additional

also wanted a copy of Strontium Dog Casefiles 1 which seems to be getting as rare as this Dante

Yes I think you're correct

£100 was first year of Kapow (2011?)
By first LSCC (2012) it was £150

I do think Brian genuinely still has a place in his heart for Dredd. He still wants to do a League of Fatties story (randomly) and he still ends of sketching 6 generic joker faces every day of every con!

Through a comedy of expensive errors I've ended up buying a copy of this book at £25+

It has used and has lightly dog-eared covers but still otherwise nice and tight.

Would anyone want to swap it for something interesting?

Things I'd like
A set of Dare the Impossible (to try and get the Gibson Dan Dare) Quality comics
Any progs 31 - 50 in knackered condition as long as the right hand edge is neat (for binding) spine can be knackered as long as intact
Any odd convention sketch you no longer fancy
Other 2000ad oddities?
PM me - i know this is random

Brian Bolland doesn't work through a sketch list in order.

I got added as something like number 20 early afternoon and got lucky.

I would say that it was a fantastic experience chatting to him for over an hour. The sketch was fine for £100 despite the previous criticisms of the price in this forum.

I'll be at LSCC to finally meet John & Carlos

Help! / 2nd help with Dan Dare...
20 January, 2013, 09:42:06 PM
3) The final 3 years of Eagle monthly had Dan Dare drawn by (Slaine artist) David Pugh. The design for Professor Peabody look identical to the AVT designs for the character by Ewins/McCarthy. Has this ever been acknowledged, i.e. Was Tom Tully asked to use them?

4) Pat Mills refers to a Dan Dare movie lining up Gareth Hunt. The ATV series was meant to feature Jamie Fox. Was one a distillation of the other project, or were there two Dare projects at the same time in 1980-81.

Thanks for any help

Help! / Help with Dan Dare...
20 January, 2013, 09:36:30 PM
1. Can anyone find a working link to Chris Weston interviewing Ian Kennedy - I'd like a nice quote for my new book

2. The Dan Dare aborted ATV series pushed chromatography (very early blue screen technology) a year later Captain Zep came out on BBC. Anyone else consider a) that this is what it would of looked like, or b) was this the same talent getting a series out once the license had expired?

Okay this gets odder.
In the Eagle version of Judge Death lives when Dredd and Anderson prepare to go through the force field, dredd replies with the line "is this strictly necessary?" clearly perturbed at having to touch her waist.
This dialogue is missing in the IPC masters in the case file and Titan books. So did Eagle add this fantastic line or was it in the prog?
Can't attach a pic on this sodding iPad

Help! / Durham Red books with gatefold bit
04 October, 2012, 05:26:43 PM
Hi guys

I wanted to collect the Durham Red / Harrison books but want to get the versions with the half gatefold covers just so it matches the ones I've got. Anyone know how I can tell the difference - is the ISBN the same? Just wanted to check so I can find them on amazon/eBay.

I know its pedantry!

those were 5 ideas I wanted to pitch to zarjaz.
Admittedly I only thought them up recently so it's not been a hugely long ambition

The x-factor one for Zenith seems too good to miss with Simon Cowell resembling a modern Masterman ever so slightly finding his skin too tight. And zenith not sure if he's being paranoid during a live show with the hoff next to him ( alright I'm mixing shows! )

The uncle Baal has mileage because we all know he did some really bad stuff.

Thank you for kind words.

A fat Zenith judging X-Factor until he realises the llogior have taken over Simon Cowell's body.

Doomlord where Eric Plumrose wanders around Cash Convertors as his landlady has pawned his ring in a time of austerity.

A great uncle Baal spin-off from nemesis where we discover who he made his chair out of.

Luke Kirby the Dark ages. Where he finds out he could of gone to a certain wizarding school and takes Voldermorts place in a new muggle coup.

Harry 40 - back on the rock this time to help hostages escape ( a la The Rock/ Sean Connery)
