This is all getting a bit deep isn't it?

Heh, yeah. It's not often a cop show makes you think like this, is it?

I understand what you mean. And it isn't a bad idea.

It was interesting seeing Ray go through that same darkness moment Shaz did last episode. And I've noticed it happens when Gene reaffirms them.

While I think the theory posted earlier that they're all in a coma too and have been incorporated into 'Gene's world' so to speak, I hope that's not the case. I kinda like the idea that Sam Tyler and Alex Drake are special in their otherworldliness. It does make sense though.

I wonder if it could signify something else though? That these characters are suddenly becoming more self-aware in a way they weren't before? Originally they were just a part of that world but now they're taking on an extra dimension. Something outside characters like Drake and Tyler had all along. Except you'd think they would be the source, rather than Hunt, but he seems to be the link somehow.

Has anyone here had any problems with Megazine 295?

I downloaded it from Clickwheel and I unzipped the file and it was individual jpegs rather than a cbz/cbr file.
I managed to fix the problem myself but they have always downloaded correctly before.

I don't think you're meant to unzip the CBZ files. That just unpacks the jpegs! Just use a CBR reader on it.

Where I said "overall it was a episode"... erm, I meant "overall it was a decent episode".

but seconds earlier he told the pilot of the spitfire to "blow this ship up". I also don't understand why the Daleks were pretending to be with the allies. Anyone got any idea?

To bait the Doctor. They knew that he would try to expose them by stating who they were. They needed that proof so they could activate the progenitor device thingy and create the 'pure' daleks. Their own DNA wasn't enough because they don't scan a pure dalek any more. (Remember how humans were turned into daleks in previous episodes?)

Spoilers ahead for Victory of the Daleks
Daleks and WW II, = Good.

Churchill = Good.

Spitfires in Place = Good. (Although that was a quick upgrade. Maybe those systems had already been installed though. I think it was mentioned but I missed it.)

Doctor baiting dalek to prove to others they're evil= Bit stupid. I know he has to prove to the others, but like that? It's just as well for them they didn't slaughter everyone in the room in a few seconds flat rather than just a couple of people.

However the plot twist using Doctor was very good.

I'll stop the this = this stuff now.

As for the new colourful Daleks I wasn't sure from the pictures, but on-screen they looked really good. Not the brightest though when they didn't attempt to zap the Doctor the moment his jammie ruse was exposed, but they've a history of that.

'Hand-held explosive device' ploy was musing but the 'unpure' daleks were stupid not to scan it earlier. Then again they've a tendency to judge people by their own terms so... I'll just about buy it.

I liked the android scientist character. Kind of convenient he was programmed with so much dalek tech knowledge  though rather than just the fake memories of creating daleks themselves... but I'll accept it as the daleks probably felt a bit more honey in the pot helps their ends (oo-er) and they are arrogant and prone to underestimation.

The last twist with the bomb was good, but the solution was.... rather bad. Next time my computer stops working properly I'll stick a USB lead up my bottom and think sad and saucy thoughts see if the computer stops mucking about. Yeah, I know I'm exaggerating, but that wasn't good.

Overall it was a episode though. They really need to sort out the balance of background music to dialogue though. I found it difficult to catch what actors were saying sometimes.

Look at the size of the Lawgiver- that is waay too big to be strapped to the poor judges leg.

I took that to be a foreshortening thing really. I.e. not to take too literally.

It's exaggerated certainly, but I like it.

I really like that lawmaster. That creature look is great, and really goes with the later years judge helmets with the triangular visor eyepieces*.

*I'm not sure what the proper names for these things are. I'm sure you know what I mean though.

Just read this (literally minutes ago).

Cover- Interesting. Looking at those mechanical looking hands I wonder if that is the White Army as some suggest. Then again it look more likely to be the city-scape. It looks vaguely threatening, suggesting more trouble from within, but perhaps the opposite is meant to be true. I.e. the city (being the capital represents the country) take the couple to it's heart?

Dredd- Part of me thinks it's a little too convenient that the Chief Judge keeps surviving, but then I remember this is a Dredd strip where major characters actually die on a regular basis. Likely Sinfield will still die at the end. I like it that, despite the way he's treated Dredd, he knows he's the man for the job in tracking his assailant at the end. Great.

Damnation Station: I wasn't sure at the start, but I'm really enjoying it now. Was that a kid, or just another species of alien? I loved this:
"JUST REMEMBER TO PUSH THE RED BUTTON WHEN YOU GET TO THREE HUNDRED FEET.
"OR IS IT BLUE? \ CAN NEVER REMEMBER.
"YOUR FILMS SUCK."
That made me laugh out loud.

Ichabod Azrael:  This is really working out a decent interesting strip. There seemed a bit of redundancy in the last 3 panels or so but no doubt that's part of the atmosphere. I'm wondering if Azrael will actually have an afterlife gang looking at the 3 of them face that giant. Ironic that one of them is actually a victim (if he does.) On the other hand I quite like him being the loner. I like the new baddie. I wasn't sure if that was a moustache or tusks... which isn't a bad thing. Great strip.

Zombo:  Sick stuff, but very amusing. So he brought his shadow beast with him. I forgot about that. Incidentally I didn't think zombies were all that strong, but these seem different from the run of the mill Romero creatures. They've got a bit of an Evil Dead thing going on.

Dante- I'm not all that into the romantic stuff (Lulu has more hair!) No doubt things will heat up soon so a gentle start is okay.

Weird. I was just reading that post and a woman mentioned 'David Cameron' on Newsnight.

Don't mind me, I'm easily fascinated by all the little coinkydinks in life.

I was just catching the repeat of the last episode of Lost (the one about Desmond) late at night and Sky 2 just, well, stopped! (Either a transmission fault or problem with my box. I've had other problems with the box lately, but they seemed to rectify.) I'm sure I'll be able to catch it again though. Just a bit irritating as the episode was just starting to get interesting.
I.e. it happened shortly after alt-universe Desmond gets a side/flash-back to Charlie and the hand message moment...
That demo clip is really amazing, but unfortunately watching it tends to make you much more aware of green screen usage than before. It kind of kills the illusion when watching a movie like, say, Shutter Island, and then suddenly realising the whole thing is full of obvious green-screening.

That never really bothers me when I watch a film. Even if I know for sure something is CGI I just suspend belief (is that the correct word) and go with it. I can see how it might affect someone though. I remember when I found out there were only a few guys in suits for Aliens (and hence only a few on screen at any one time) it spoilt the illusion of hundreds a bit for me. Still a cracking film.

*myself not included. There were certain scenes which made me wince a bit, and I think they overdid the Bladerunner stuff, but I thought it was good overall.

It's still a bit early for that ThryllSeekyr. I get the impression from Ming's comments we'll see something soon though.

To be honest I'm more interested in Mongrol as a figure, but I'm certainly interested in any pics that come this way.

Thanks for posting that, I've never seen that before.

Makes me realise how naive I am as to how much green/blue screen goes on in modern productions. (I.e. not just for accidents and sci-fi... extreme stuff. Just... everyday street type stuff too.) I'd have never known for some of that. Thinking about it, it's understandable though as it gives production more control over the environment (i.e. save closing off roads, passers-by mucking about, etc).  Even so, wow.

was expecting shaz to cop it ...rather than "i'm quitting and you cant make me change my mind" "wanna job in cid?" " yeah alright then"

That did seem a bit easy to me... but the way they dealt with that was interesting. Did you see the way she looked at the camera when she replied? And that little riff of music in the background?
