Film & TV / Re: Current TV Boxset Addiction

I knew Rebels S3 was out on broadcast TV, but it hasn't hit the disks yet*, surely?

And yeah, the finale was great.
Maul, and Vader? Wow. I had mixed feelings about bringing back Maul, but I kinda like how they're using him here. I think he needs to be killed off pretty soon though.
After the good reviews on here, I started watching Breaking Bad recently, and I'm 6 episodes in already. (I had intended to watch one or two episodes then move on to something else, and come back to it, pacing myself with a bit of variety, but as usual I got carried away.)

Yep. Good stuff. To think I'm routing for Crystal Meth dealers. What's wrong with me? A victim of good writing, and sympathetic characterisation, that's what.   I like that despite the somewhat grim material (actually partly due to the grim material) there is plenty of humour to be had, albeit partly of the jet black variety, which I like. (Maybe I need help.)
I predicted that thing with the bath tub, by the way, but it still worked really well. Or bad, depending on how you look at it. Don't watch, if you're eating a big bowl of stew, or thick soup. (I wasn't.)
Still haven't worked out where 'Saul' fits in, (Walter being the name of the protagonist) but I'm sure that will become clear.

*I do watch streamed telly, but I'm still partial to the Blu-ray/DVD. Particularly as I can't get Rebels on Netflix. Heh.

Yes, I liked the look of the city in the Stallone film. Pretty close to the comics, I thought. I also really liked the ABC Warrior.

Actually, as a whole, I didn't dislike the film for what it was - a cheesy sci-fi Stallone vehicle. (Even back then, I got a bit confused about Stallone's Dredd and Assante's Rico being clones from the same material though. They'd pass for non-identical twins, sure, but that's not what a clone is.)

The Angel gang were also rather well depicted, I thought, although I don't think the originals were cannibals. (I haven't read the earlier stories concerning the Angel gang.)

In my defence I also watched it before I got into the comics. I thought the lawgiver design was quite cool too. I still quite like it, although it's a bit too plasticy. The shape and design is nice though.

Unforgiven. Yeah, I think that might be my favourite Western. Well it's up there, anyway.

The ad shows flying cars... which ultimately doesn't really mean anything as it could be completely different when it is broadcast. If they keep to that aesthetic though (i.e. movie style blocks, albeit not so spaced out, but the comic vehicles) that would not be a bad way to go.

I do like the big mushroom buildings, though.

Correction: Actually both styles work for me.

Yikes! Glad you're all okay SBT. Thankfully bees in this country are not particularly aggressive, but in that situation they could have figured they were under attack...

I don't think I've ever been stung either. Not even by a wasp. I reckon they get a bad rep. Red ants on the other hand...

Star Wars Rebels, season 2.

Very enjoyable, but I binged too much at once. I need more self discipline to pace myself. Heh.

GREAT NEWS!

I'm interested to see that the poster actually references four hundred million, rather than the eight hundred million citizens of the film.

So different reality? Or have the major disasters that affected the citizens in the comic happened between film and TV show? A bit more back-story to mine?

Whether a continuation from the film or not, I think I'll happy as long as it is done well. It would be nice if Karl Urban could return to do his stuff, though, but I wouldn't mind a uniform*  and some of the weirdness closer to the comics.

Books & Comics / Re: Whats everyone reading?

Church of Marvels by Leslie Parry.

It's a novel set in the late 19th century, following several different people, who are linked somehow.

It's an interesting read so far.

On the comics front*, I've only been consuming* 2000AD and The Meg at the moment. Not a bad thing, as they're both in quite a good place, but I'm open to something else as well.

*I guess I'm mixing my  metaphors there.

I guess I don't mind as long as it's a self contained story that doesn't refer to main things in continuity of the other films. That way it can be a continuation in your mind if you want it to, but kinda fits the reboot remit. (I.e. reboot needn't mean a whole new universe.)

Well, I've not read The Final Solution yet, but I presumed that Precious had appeared in that as well as The Life & Death of Johnny Alpha. Is that not the case?

No, she's not in the Final Solution. She only appears in the more recent published stories set before and after The Final Solution. She is a John Wagner/Carlos Ezquerra character. (Saying this as The Final Solution was written by Alan Grant.)

I haven't watched either of these shows.

Would you guys suggest it's best to start with the prequel (Better Call Saul) or watch it in production order?

I tried the new Curry Pot Noodle. It was awful with hardly any taste at all let alone any curry flavour. Misery.

I don't know of the new one you speak...

But I am partial to a Bombay Bad-boy. Even with the silly name.

As for cereals, I never really took to weetabix but I didn't mind them in small amounts as a kid.

(Nowadays my cereal of choice is porridge or fruit and fibre.)

I've also been told the way I have cereal is strange, i.e. I like a bit of milk, but not too much as I like it all crunchy. Well, apart from porridge which is meant to be like that, but I'm not keen on that being liquidy. I have a vague memory of being with friends/colleagues and doing this, and the person opposite me grabbed the milk and splashed a load more on my cereal, assuming I was just taking a little to be polite.
No. I don't like it like that.  (I still ate it though as I don't like to waste things.)
