You could point to buildings and ask an American how old that building is.

Then look disappointed at their answer...

Start complaining that you can't get black pudding.

Then explain to them what it is...

Our aerial is in the attic - from there it trails down to a socket in the living room. We've also got a socket in the living room that goes back up into the attic and then leads to sockets in two other rooms in the house, so we can watch TV (and the current cable / video channel) in those rooms

So option b) sounds good, but possibly trailing your wires through the attic instead of going through the window.

Help! / Re: Console advice
24 November, 2004, 05:07:28 PM
Yeah, the x-box has a blisteringly fast processor compared to the PS2 one, but the PS2 has 3 other chips to take the load off it - it's just a bugger to sychronise them all. And if you're doing a title that needs a lot of raw processing power (like the one I'm working on at the moment), then the PS2 really struggles.

Most game programmers say it's best to design the game for the X-box and then try and squeeze as much of it into the Ps2 :)

I have all the consoles (well - I'm missing an Atari Jaguar and an Intellivision) and the X-Box gets the most play-time, probably followed my my Gameboy Advance :)

The best thing to do is work out what exclusive games are available to which platform and which ones you want to play the most. Most games are cross-platform and there's not a lot of difference between each one apart from a bit of graphical sheen.

Oh, and if this sways you - Call of Cthulhu is only going to be on X-box.

X-Box is the most superior technically (sorry, but true. PS2 is more powerful but no bugger knows how to program it efficiently!) - I mainly use my PS2 for GTA games and Eye-toy. Everything else of worth I can generally buy on the X-Box as well. And X-Box has Halo 2 :)

If you can pick up a cheap Gamecube it's worth it though.

No, that was a 4th doctor one. Just after he'd reincarnated (So it was between Planet of the Spiders and Terror of the Zygons - man, I'm such a who-er)

"Problem is I love a bargain..."

Heh - same here. I ended up picking up a second Eyetoy yesterday because it was cheaper to buy Sega Superstars with Eyetoy than it was to pick up Sega Superstars on its own, because of Game's current special offers...

One quick google of the internet later and I had a working PC webcam (with built-in microphone) :)

Yeah, it seems they've concentrated on the Live play in Halo 2 more than the single player (Although I've yet to complete it on Normal mode - But I think I'm near the end)

The other reason may be that they decided to release only 1/2 the levels in the story (I've heard the game ends a bit abruptly), so they can get Halo 3 out before X-Box 2 arrives.

BTW: Is it wrong to now feel sympathy for the Elites?

This is what most music players look at when they're trying to find out the tracklist for your CD.

>can permafrost preserved 2000 yr old corpses get radio reception ?

Depends on how many hip replacements you've got...

And no, you're never too old to read comics - it's a medium, like books, TV and films. It only seems to be in England we have the perception that they are only for kids.
