Very nice, peeps - but, not one Twoothy Dangler? I sense a gap in the market...

Nice one! Dredd's been hogging that bog for ages now, I'll bet there's quite a queue outside by now... Love the Judge Death toilet rolls - another moneyspinner Tharg should consider?

Larf, hold your nose and get on in there...

*edit* What's a sticky topic? And should this be one?

Excellent work, get that man a large port.

Will Dover do?

Fantastic entries from one and all, especially Gav's Secret Santa project. Inspired!

Very good. I'm liking the idea and the work so far, well done!

Like Locusts, I'd be itching to lend a script if ever you need one.

Absolutely no problem at all. Any admin can open the room at any time, and so long as there is at least one person in there, the room can stay open indefinitely. I'm happy to grant admin status to anyone from the board who wants to use the room at times of their own choosing.

Can't say fairer than that, can I?

This is one of my favourite threads. I'd love to have a go myslef but have no idea how to use photoshop  ???

Now's as good a time as any to learn, Golledge! You don't need fancy and expensive Photoshop, either. Why not download the completely free Gimp from here:

http://www.gimp.org/

...and then indulge yourself in some completely free tutorials from here:

Give it a go, you have nothing to lose. There's plenty of folks hereabouts who'll lend you encouragement and advice. When you feel ready, drop your name in here or slip something into the Art Comp. Go on, you know you want to...

This is a great thread. All we need is a campfire and some rustling noises coming from the woods.

I've suffered from a sleep-paralysis kind of thing only once, and it was terrifying at the time. I was asleep in bed when, suddenly, I realised that I was asleep in bed. All at once, I became aware of a low growling noise. My dog sleeps in the bedroom, so I assumed he'd heard something outside and so decided to investigate, as one does. It was at this point, however, that I found myself unable to move a muscle or even open an eye.

All at once, I became aware of what I can only describe as a "shadow hound" running around the bedroom. It had pure black fur which was long and matted, intensely white teeth and dull red eyes. It ran around the room, not on the floor but on the walls, like a motorcyclist performing the Wall of Death stunt. Every time it got near me, it would leap off the wall and rebound off my chest before continuing on to do another circuit, snarling and growling horribly all the time. The feeling of savagery and malevolence emanating from this shadow hound was as shocking as anything I've ever experienced, especially as I couldn't move.

In that weird, dream-logic that exists outside the waking world, I knew that showing my fear to this beast would be a terrible mistake and all I had to do was shout back at the thing to get rid of it. It seemed an impossible task as I felt as if I was trapped in weeds at the bottom of a canal or something, struggling to get to the surface and unable to move or breathe. Eventually, after what seemed like an age but was probably only a few seconds (you all know how that goes) I managed to fight myself awake and came to consciousness howling myself. My own dog was sitting there looking at me, his head on one side.

I've never experienced anything like it before or since and, even though I'm pretty damned sure it was all some kind of nightmare, I can't shake the feeling that I was actually battling for my life against that whirling, mad shadow hound.

Thanks, chaps. I didn't bump this myself because I didn't want to be getting on people's nerves with it. I know it's a pain in the butt to keep up with whose turn it is and whatnot so I thought maybe folk had had enough of it. Anyhoo, just in case we want to keep this going (I know I do) here's the turn list as it stands:

01: The Legendary Shark
02: Bouwel
03: His Lordship rac
04: Mike Carroll
05: Jim Campbell
06: Pete Wells
07: James S
08: Larf
09: Uncle Fester

Oh, and nice one, Pete!

The only film ever made that I'd have no problem condemning to incineration, and you want it on Blu-ray?

Somebody fetch me a bucket, I can feel a good weep coming on...

Low-level weird stuff happens to me all the time, for example street lights going on and off as I walk past them in the night (although this could obviously be because we have crap lighting in my village) and things go missing and then turn up all the time. The latest of the latter is a vector file of Bolland's Dredd/Death cover I made last year. I was convinced I'd lost this file after a crash and format in January or February this year, and searched everywhere for it with increasing desperation as it took an age to finish. It was nowhere to be found. Until yesterday, when I found the file (plus backups and additional working files) in a folder I've checked at least a score of times. Still, that's not the spooky story. This is my spooky story:

Around twenty years ago, I was asleep in bed when I was suddenly awakened by a most unusual thing. Hovering at the foot of my bed was a huge, semi-translucent face. It looked kind of like the angels at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark, having a slight blue glow and what looked like tendrils or whisps waving around it, like luminous silk undulating in water. I didn't recognise the face and assumed that this was just some weird dream that had woken me. I checked the clock, 2:15am, and then went back to sleep.

As I was preparing my breakfast the next morning, my mother telephoned to inform me that my Uncle Alan had died that morning. At 2:15am. I didn't even know he'd been ill.
