I've to admit that this weeks future shock was perhaps the worst I've ever read. When I reached the end it took me 5 minutes to work out that the Earth was an egg & the human race an infection. What a load of shite. Sin Dex reached an all time low for the series. C'mon Tharg either pull the plug on this series or bring back Holy Moses and send the boys out in one last explosive story arc. Dredd was substandard fare & left me gagging for Wagners return. The jury is still out on Shakara. I remember wondering what the hell was going on in the early episodes of Nemesis, which Shakara shares more than a passing resemblance, and now those stories are considered classic. My guess is he'll be back in a second series & this time he'll bring a plot. On the whole though, 2k has never been better since the new owners arrived. Now if Tharg could just attract Bisley back for another Slaine epic...

I hate sloppiness in the JD continuity. What the hell did that tech judge in Crusade discover that every Mega City wanted it? What was the Sino Cit crisis that never appeared but warranted McGruder using Dredd as a guinea pig for some new combat drug thingy? And why was the word AVANT scrawled on walls throughout Dredds visit to Luxor and appeared again in the stories that followed on for a couple of weeks afterward? And don't even get me started on The Bad Man....

PVS by what higher order where you made Judge, Jury & Excecutioner? I'm beginning to worry that too much Thrill Power has gone to your head and started to affect your neural circuits. Can I recommend that you lie down in a darkened room and repeat softly to yourself "It's only a comic, its only a comic, its only a comic...."

Can we nominate megazine strips? If so, I nominate Garth Ennis's appalling Earth, Wind & Fire. Not only does this strip make the mistake of resurrecting Chopper after the tear jerking Song of the Surfer but it did it in the worst possible way. Said sky surfer now lives in character limbo. Which is a sadder end for the character.

Can I nominate this weeks Dredd which was wank.

I didn't mean to save Supersurf 13 so dump it back on the list. I'll still defend Slaine though. I've got to nomiate the following strips for oblivion: Kellys Eye ( what a load of cak that was) Dry Run (still the very worst series printed), Toa de Moto, Time House, that really crap series about a virtual sex killer, it featured a female detective whose body could mutate into weird twig things. Hhmm. Bollocks more like.

I'll stick my hand up in defence of post Horned God Slaine. Alright, the Robin Hood & Grail stuff was shite. The Secret Common Wealth was a wanky follow-up to the Horned God, but c'mon, The Treasures of Britain must wipe out all of Mills crimes. And which story was Supersurf 13? Was that in Oz or Song of the Surfer? In eithercase I'll defend em both.
