The fact is Scojo, you are making assumptions. You assume that Wagner & Grant went in demanding ridiculous fees. You also assume that they should be pleased to work for nothing. Would you work for nothing? Then why should anyone else. I assume you have more experience in this area than I do, I'm not a budding screenwriter. But you do get on your high horse about this. C'mon think about it. Wagner & Grant earn a crust by writing, to expect them to give away scripts & ideas and be grateful for that is pathetic. I don't expect you to give your ideas away for free.

It is ridiculous for John and Alan to write something like a Dredd screenplay and expect to be payed for it just like that.

Errr, I would. Maybe you should try living in the real world Scojo.

Kids have lots of cool comics aimed at them, it just so happens that most of them are reprint material published by Marvel UK. Still it's better than Sonic the Comic. And what's wrong with the Beano & Dandy? Menaces Forever!!!

What's wrong with 2K anyway? Lets not have another repeat of Lawman of the Future.

Shit! I'm almost 30 and I'm sat arguing over what is basically a comic. Worse than that, I'm doing it over the Net with people I've never met. That makes me a cyber geek & comic nerd all rolled into one. I dread to download the boardgames in case i find myself heading off to Games Workshop this weekend in search of White Dwarf back issues. At what point did a childhood love become an obsession?

You're either taking the piss or misunderstood my post. I was simply stating that just like the artwork debate was a load of bollocks so is the old vs new debate. It will go back & forwards forever because we have a tendency to over analysise on this site. At the end of the day a strip should be commissioned because it is good. Not because it contains the right ratio of old & new or black & white. If we start putting strips together on those basis, then we are entering the world of crass, manufactured, lowest common denominator, shite. A bit like Pop Stars but with comics instead.

H'mmm, like the argument about black & white vs color strips, I feel that this could run and run. For what it's worth i don't think the future lies in new characters, I think it lies in good stories. it's as simple as that.

You've hit the nail on the head there PVS. I find I'm increasingly losing interest in the site & the comments that appear on this board. You've done well PVS in trying to inject new life into the board with your ideas (create a 2K character). Maybe a weekly editorial column from Tharg? Sneak previews, development news, upcoming merchandise & graphic novels? The site seems to have a large community around it now & needs more than the message board to keep me coming back day after day. How about some online games? Just so happens that I work for a company that develop them. Interested Oh Mighty One? Could send you some samples?

Dinosty, what a complete piece of shit. C'mon Tharg, don't try and sneak the Langley droid in through the back door by starting him off on the occasional cover. The only thing this weeks cover did was make me appreciate Flints artwork even more! And whilst I'm on the subject of crappy art, what was going on with the last page of Bad Company? I knew the artwork throughout the 3rd book of Bad Company was crap, but by mixing it with images from the previous books highlighted how bad it had gotten. I had to go and flick through the Horned God to remind myself what good artwork looks like...

Scojo, I would love to read one of your Dredd epics, but you always promise and never deliver! C'mon Scojo... By the way scojo me old mucka, what did you reckon to Grant's Dredd this week? Reckon its going to lead anywhere? A future epic maybe? Lets hope it's gonna be more than a Dredd catches skull headed bad guy and blows the shit out of him kind of story.

If you look hard enough you'll find a Neil Gaiman story in one of the old annuals & then reprinted with new visuals in one of the yearbooks (can't remember if it's in a 2K or Dredd book). It's about a batch of illegal sugar that is been sold in MC-1 but turns out to really be spiders eggs. Various sugar addicts burst as the eggs hatch. I think it's a Hershey story (or it could be Dekker). No doubt if I'm wrong someone will correct me...
