Games / Re: 2000AD Board Games.

I've got the solo game rules for the Rogue Trooper game kicking about some place. They were printed in a copy of White Dwarf about the same time the Rogue game came out.

I'll hunt for it and scan the page / host a link to a pdf if anyone's interested?

Cheers!

I think I've moved home about 12 times now since I started reading 2000ad in the mid 1980's and still somehow only managed to wreck just the one prog!

I'd walked down to pick up said prog from my newsagent when I was a nipper in '87. I got it delivered normally, but the fucker always saw fit to hold onto it for a few days at the paper shop for some reason and I couldn't wait usually... Anyway, I got it, was en route to the barbers and got soaked to the skin by ths bastard of a shower that started.

Can still remember sitting pssed aff with my soggy wrecked prog, trying to decipher John Hicklenton's Nemesis book 7 art waiting on my turn for a short back & sides!!

T'was this one:

Feck knows - I asked two cop friends after we came off if they knew what it was; one shook his head and the other seemed to have heard of it and went on to enlighten me with a few other similar ones. Starting to think maybe I've led a sheltered life...

Doubly off topic, I noticed one of the other bands listed as playing this classy joint were called "Dick Dangerous and the Love Bastards". Class!

We played a gig last night in Edinburgh and our bass player announced who were as norm over the mic after the 1st song.

Being the mumbling fck that he is, someone shouted out "Eh? What are yis called?". I responded with "Alabama Hotpocket" and a whole bunch of the audience gave a collective "urrrgh!!"

This is the first I've heard of this -deffo worth checking though I think going by the trailer I just seen. Carl Weathers (Apollo Creed) stars as the police chief, quality!!

Cannie wait for this flick... Either be a monumental achievement getting it right or a monumental fuck up.

Happy to put my faith in Snyder getting this right though after 300 & DotD and also based on the Watchmen pics & set stories that have been leaked out so far.

Film & TV / Re: The Thing 2 (prequal)............

A prequel or sequel would be ace but please PLEASE ffs, don't remake one of the best scifi / horror flicks of all time!!!

The 1st Thing comics Dark Horse did were brilliant I thought and could lay the bones for a good filmable sequal - the 2nd lot wasn't bad (Climate of Fear) but the 3rd lot was feckin rubbish though.

The game wasn't bad either and again, is another good way a sequel could go plot wise...

Read about it a while back so pleased to see it is worthy of a visit to the flicks. Deffo comparrisons to Mad Max 2 in there though (no bad thing!).

Film & TV / Re: Cloverfield

I thought it was fairly decent - The motion sickness thing was putting me off sitting through a whole film filmed like that, so before I went in so took a travel sickness pill and it seemed to stop me from wanting to chunder!

Only thing I didn't like was for the most part it coulda been a flick about any kinda disaster really with those folk running about - don't think the monster & it's wee pals were in it as often as I'd have liked (or maybe perhaps wasn't used as well as Jaws & Alien had done so in the past in the same manner - a sustained 'orrible threat that stays just out of view).

Still, thought it was an enjoyable wee film and it beat the fuck outta that piss of shit AVPR I'd went to see the previous week...

Amen to that brother!!!!!!
