Won't see this prog til Wednesday but - Slaine and Sinister Dexter back next week! YAYYY!!! :) That's moreso for SinDex coming back so soon after their last tale (please let that be a new trend so the story can get somewhere) but I'm also happy to have another bit of Slaine action, as I enjoyed the last short story and the way they left it.

I'm sure I've said it before on here but Psych is a fantastically good fun show. I too am amazed by the ridiculous time slot it has on RTE. Mentalist is so boring compared to it and yet has done better? Strange how it works. Paul, the guys really do love their show and I urge you to seek out the next seasons...up to season 4 now! One of the best things about it is how certain episodes focus in on an classic movie or TV show... Some of the standouts have been the "Friday the 13th" homage and the "Jaws" homage, but there's a "Twin Peaks" one coming up (featuring a load of all the Twin Peaks cast) which is just destined to be awesome!

I've given up on H50 already I'm afraid, too run of the mill for me. I'll stick with Burn Notice!

Had a look at the first episode of Chase last night and it was okay... but, again, very run of the mill (so far). Will give it another go and see how we get on.

That's awesome, nice bit of luck there.

I've been avoiding looking at my bank statement lately because of HOW UTTERLY MISERABLE it was the last time I checked (about four months ago). I got so depressed by the sheer lack of funds that I couldn't bring myself to check it again, deciding to leave the financial side of things to the wife (who is much better at coping with these kinds of things than me and doesn't break down into a nervous worrying heap about it all). Last night she had left the latest statement on the table and I happened to catch a glimpse of the balance as I walked past, even as I tried to avert my eyes...but lo and behold.....there was a balance!! And it was pretty decent.
Wow, who knew giving up the McDonalds latte every morning and quitting ordering takeaways once or twice a week could make such a difference!

Wasabai...shudder!
You'd think I'd be used to it by now, seeing as my wife is Japanese and I spend at least 1 month every year in Tokyo, but.....no.....not at all!!

Oh my God its Mother Earth...and.....yes, Father Earth!
That was a very surprising picture to see!
And you make Mother Earth look interesting!

So we went to the shops last night. After a bit of dinner in KFC (the good old boneless bargain bucket, yum!) we were loading the kids into the car in the car park and tidying away the buggy. This lady in a 4x4 roars in and turns into the aisle opposite where we are parked. She pulls into the parking space ahead of and adjacent to our car. Hops out and legs it into the shops, in a major hurry like. Grand, whatever. Next thing,as I am putting the buggy in the back, I hear my daughter inside the car scream, and look up to see the 4x4 coming straight for us!!! Fecking car was left in gear and the handbrake wasnt engaged, and as we were on a slight slope....whammo, right into the side of my car!!! Of course, the carpark security attendant wasn't much use, a bit of a Nick Frost lookalike who just thought it was hilarious. The shopping centre intercom was broken so we couldnt page the driver of the car and had to just sit there and wait for her to come out. The flippin guards were all too busy chasing (on foot)some young lads who had just robbed a pub in the next town so we had to wait for them to come as well! Ended up sitting there for nearly an hour before both the other car owner and the guards showed up!!!  And I've got a dirty great dent in the side of my car.

But...

you have to look on the bright side.

Our kids were all in the car when it happened, not standing around outside when it happened. How easily one of them could have been standing right there at the door where the other vehicle rammed into. Scaaaaaaaaaaaaaaary.

And from the other driver's perspective, (who was very shocked and apologetic when she eventually did show up) it may cost her her no claims bonus on her insurance but she is DAMN lucky my car was there to stop hers...after mine, there was nothing else there but a slope right to the back concrete wall a good twenty yards off...a car that size building up a bit of speed as it rolled down that hill and it would have been some nice mess I can tell you!!

A minor impediment indeed. But at least we'll get to drive around in a nice swank replacement car for a few days while ours gets fixed!

Off Topic / Re: Question for Irish broadband users
22 October, 2010, 08:53:47 PM
I've got broadband with UPC and am pretty happy with it. Went for the unlimited download 20gb service but they upped me to 25gb for free after about 6 months as a loyalty bonus. Which was nice. Very fast, very stable. There is the ODD time where the connection fails but these times are few and far between so nothing to complain about really.

Kingdom is the business, one of my fave thrills ever.
Dante and Sin Dex I also took a looooooooooooooooooooong time to warm up to but eventually I did and I love them both. Although lately Dante is starting to lose me a bit again, think it might be starting to drag on a bit...

Haha! That's brilliant. Very creative. Have our pumpkin awaiting its fate downstairs but haven't had at it with the knife yet...probably have a go at something this weekend.
