I live in the USA, and I always feel odd when I read posts like this. :o

Maison Ikkoku is my favorite Takahashi show, great stuff. Wacky hijinks and romance in an apartment building.

As I say, it's my reading, so feel free to disagree.

I'm all for interpreting things and bringing your own ideas to the table. But, just for the record... you don't think John Wagner had any of this in mind do you?

While it's nice that a French phrase for orgasm means "the little death", I'm pretty sure Wagner did not have that in mind when he created Judge Death.

I'm not saying the creator's view on their art is how we should all see it or anything, just sayin'.

It's the kids, my dear familiar, they're taken in by big guns and bigger boobs.

I think that happens when they hit puberty. :D Well, okay the guns part is probably true from the age of 3 on.

Yeah that's definitely the toughest fight in the game. That's right near the end of it, there's only one level after that one.

I just unloaded the lawgiver on him, then I unloaded the machine gun I had, then I picked up a shotgun that was around there somewhere. Just keep picking up guns. :D

Books & Comics / Re: Walt Disney aquires Marvel Comics

Honestly, I don't think this is a big deal.

So many things are owned by other larger companies. DC Comics has been owned by Warner Brothers since 1969, now Marvel is owned by Disney.

Miramax, the company that released Pulp Fiction, is a division of Disney.

Disney owns many things that aren't kid friendly.

I'm glad we still have independent publishers though, of course.

I always enjoy some podcasts. It's better than the radio.

They mentioned the Judge Dredd movie with Stallone too, that movie will live on in infamy. Though I do enjoy it. :D

I just beat it, pretty short game but a lot of fun. 8)

I love Dredd's voice in the game too. The actor Toby Longworth voices him in the audio dramas too apparently, pretty cool.

I'd go with Dredd. Dredd is the best, what can I say.

ABC Warriors would make a pretty awesome movie too, as would a lot of other thrills.

Hey, here's one nerdy nitpick for you, we call them anime and manga even when they're plural, no "s" at the end. Not that it matters really. :D

Rurouni Kenshin is the first anime/manga I'd recommend. Think Trigun but with a wandering swordsman. Much like in Trigun, Kenshin has a nice guy exterior but really hides a dark past. Great stuff.

Cowboy Bebop is classic sci-fi about bounty hunters in space, definitely a must.

If you dig Bleach I'd recommend One Piece, it's cartoony but it's pretty awesome, with pirates.

Death Note, X (TV), Gurren Lagann, Monster, and Basilisk are also good ones.

Judge Death is still an interesting guy, good discussion here.

One thing's for sure, they need to bring Judge Death back. It's been five years since his last appearance, I think they should bring him back in the next year or two.

Looks fun, and I think Jeff Bridges will steal the show.

I really like that one, great stuff. I've enjoyed most of the Dredd crossovers, especially the first Batman one with the Simon Bisley art.

Apparently John Wagner is not too fond of writing about the Aliens though.

From this interview, when asked if there were any stories/characters he hated writing:

"Stories like Aliens and Predator, for instance. Both are 'one-joke' stories. They have one controlling idea and when that's been written you can only repeat yourself."

Thanks for pointing this out. I just purchased it, this is definitely worth $3.99 for the novelty value.
