Depends I guess on what you require. If you have time and need the best price use the individual buy it now. For a quick sale at any price stick um all together?

Fantastic image to boot and I'd forgotten Wings actually had a song called Magneto and Titanium Man!

I think all this civil war speculation sounds very unlikely. It didn't happen over McGruder and the robot judges, and this is no different. Frankly I would be disappointed if the whole story simply degenerated into a big fight, we've seen enough of those. I would be happier with something more like Wilderlands or The Pit, rather than another multi-million-bodycount thing.

As far as Francisco is concerned, I think it's already apparent that Sinfield is the real power behind the throne and the real "villain" of the story. This makes him quite interesting, as he is someone who Dredd can't defeat just by shooting him. Like Edgar, Dredd will have to find a smarter way to deal with him (and now I've just remembered that Dredd never really got the better of Edgar anyway, it was Niles who got her fired from PSU, and she died before Dredd could arrest her for murder). And with Dredd out of the city, he can't really do anything about Sinfield anyway. Consequently I think this will be one of the most unpredictable stories yet.

We won't know until we know BUT as far speculation goes this is all sounding about right to me. I think Dredd trying to set up a new township somewhere in the Cursed Earth and bring law to the lawless has enough potential to keep an Epic going. The political situation in MC1 might be a slow burn. Also I'm curious as to how Hershey's off world adventure will be told? Might we get a Hershey strip in the Meg????

I know Macca was into his American comics he got Jack Kirby (actually better be careful here as my memory of this story might be a bit wonky) to draw them Magneto and Titanium Man the images were used at some show or other (think it was a Wings show???)... damn I wish I could remember the details a little better BUT defo he got into Marvel Comics and I believe was a fan of American comics before that.

Ok so we've at the half way point and what was already and incredible reading experience is showing signs of improving.

I'll not take too much time just repeating myself and saying that Kamandi, Hawkman and Flash are simply brillant or that I find Wonder Woman pretty poor (its such a shame to take the great potential for beautiful art and storytelling and make it a cluttered hard read but this managers it) or the Teen Titans is just kinda meh. Rather I'll say a little about the ones that were on the cusp of greatness (or otherwise) and how must seem to be tipping the balance in a postive way.

Strange Tales is there no doubt at all. Its brillant and is up there with the best three strips. Batman is also superb I just feel that they've told the story through all these little vignettes of different aspects of Batman's/Bruce Wayne's life and now I'd like to see the main plot take a little more promenance for the second half.

Supergirl, Demon + Catwoman and Green Lantern remain good fun and Deadman is really starting to tick along nicely.

Metal Men, well the opening up of the setting, literally in this case is just what the strip needed and I feel that the story might now catch up with the exceptional art. Metamorpho likewise has had that nudge towards greatness it needed and while it does still seem an excerise in how cute they can be playing with the format and different techniques per issue its winning me over, even if it can seem almost smug (well Simon Stagg is in it!). Heck even Sgt Rock and Superman had endings this week that could really drive things forward.

So what was already good, nah great remains so and I'm really encouraged by whats happening to most of the rest. This comic is just fantastic!

Reading the JLA Deluxe volumes. Love the scripts but is the Porter art ever ugly or what?

Yeah on another thread just waxed lyrical about how great the Morrison JLAs are but have to admit not a fan of Porter's art, functional at best, though to be fair the stuff I've seen of his lately has been alot better.

Had a stand in postie this morning, perfectly nice and all BUT cos he was late managed to arrive in our road just as a heavy rain shower started. Watched him nervously take the roads mail out his bag and potter between the houses delievering wondering how my prog would get on realising it'd be ridiculous to run out and get it off him. Anyway it arrived and bless it the envelope had taken the brunt of the rain. I'll have to have a word with our regular postie, who is a star and make sure he never takes a holiday again!

Still all in all Saturdays are a great day for the Prog to arrive.

Well the title seems to have been confirmed at the end of this weeks Prog and the main artist (???? well from my reading certainly the startig artist???) is Colin MacNeil, a choice we can all be happy with I'm sure.

Prog / Re: Prog 1649: Hail To The Chief

Interesting that in a Prog full of endings a story that is pure set up is the stand out. Under New Management was gold. The lawyer was genius and the epic ahead has a very exciting launch pad. Quiet genius.

Sinister Dexter was really good and left with an exciting parting shot. Red Seas finished satisfatorially enough if it feels the story didn't quite open up events quite as much as it might have and Defoe... well at least I'm reading it now. The Terror Tale had some wonderful art to boot.

All behind a great cover. A good prog with a great Dredd.
