Meg 341 is probably the strongest single issue of any Rebellion title this year. Just great stuff.

Tell you what...

I'd actually like to find out what happened in that John McCrea strip. Seeing as I've paid for parts of it twice.

A £100 non-transferable loan of the book would have solved your ebay distaste. Ya'know, like Apple does for iTunes.

Better call Saul....

Books & Comics / Re: Dept. Of Monsterology...

Yeah it's pretty sad. My LCS had no idea about DHP, A1, Strip or just about any new comic I ask about until #1 arrives. I've had them say they can't stock Titan Comics (they can) and that they can't get a 2000AD GN because 'they (rebellion) have switched distributor'. When I asked about The Comics Journal they simply hadn't heard of it. Despite working there six years.  Any old BS to cover 'I have no idea because I hate comics'. Of about 8 staff only one would go 'oh, you like x so have you seen y?'. They are, basically, inept at their job and, nice people that they are (some) they should be fired. It's fxxking easy to sell me comics and these people never ever do it.

Surely she's just a device for the 'you don't come back / you come back' line for rick. She's him at the mid-point of last season.. stark raving mad and wandering around semi-senseless because of what they had to do and what they have been through. She's lost her significant other, she's wandering around alone and talking to someone who isn't there anymore and she's broken all societal rules that comforted her to survive but can't live with it.

Dredd - Oz
Dredd - Beyond Our Kenny
Dante - Sympathy for the Devil
Cabalistics Inc - Ashes
Tardi - Ici Meme
Tardi - It was the War of the Trenches
BPRD - The Long Death
Manara - The Paper Man
Schuiten - Fever in Ubricland
Rancourt - Melody (Kitchen Sink run)

Probably, might change by tomorrow when I submit. I would guess The Day of Chaos might get discounted as it had several arcs that would by themselves be eligible. So many good things didn't make the cut - Low Life - The Deal was the last to go ( a toss up between it's 'Cover your eyes lads' page and Cam Kennedy's Izzy Who at customs for 'funniest page in comics')

Thought it was great. The dropping scene was immense and the water = doom is a particularly good development from the comic.

Plus I hope Carl's infanticide tendencies return.

Books & Comics / Re: Six-Gun Gorilla by Simon Spurrier

Yep, totally ace comic. As is his X-Men thang (the first Marvel series I've bought in 20 years).

Spurrier is an astoundingly good writer.

I am told publisher Ivo Milicevic plans to be at the Lakes International Comic Art Festival later this month...

...but in all likelihood he'll turn up there sometime in Janurary.

Really enjoyed this. McCrea looks like he banged it out on an ipad - huge brush strokes. Not that that is a complaint, he's got both Dredd and Martain's down pat. It pretty much is classic TB Grover style silliness and all the better for it.

I think it's all one long ruse to generate 'tales' for future conventions.
