You have to go through the tunnels under Arlington and you'll eventually come across a factory full of Chinese commies.  There might be a way to access it without going through the Metro system, but that's how I found them.

"Model Not Hired For Brains" shocker.

Nice top, all the same.

The pause-combat system was a bit of an unknown quantity at first, but I eventually came to find it indispensible, particularly with the fire-ants.

Finished this over the weekend.  Awesome game, but a bit of an anticlimax, which I think was because I played through it as a bit of a lily-white.  Started a new playthrough the very next day and started by shooting as many NPCs in the face as possible, and once I get to Megaton, I'm wiping that sucker off the face of the Earth.
You can get a dog in the junkyard, which I didn't discover first time around.  He follows you about and finds stuff for you - cool!

It wasn't for me - my younger brother is mad about the show and says the game is pretty good.

The remake of Thing From Another World is widely regarded as superior to the original, and I'd say the same for the remake of Hairspray.
Heard good things about The Departed (remake of Infernal Affairs) - but never seen it.

They did a midnight opening at our local dvd rental place to sell this, and I made a point of being first in line so I could buy the new Naruto.
Rented GOW2, and it's a lot more enjoyable than the first one, but I haven't a clue if you'll play through it in three days like the first one.  I'd be a little disappointed if that was the case - but I'd be bloody livid if this one's missing the final three levels and end-game boss like Gears 1 was (although I heard they were on the PC version).

I know people who didn't watch Shindler's List because it wasn't in colour.

Subtitled movies?
Fuggedaboudit!

The original will still remain a good piece of schlock-cinema, possibly even finding a few curious latecomers if the American version is successful (or even if it's universally panned), so nothing of the original is lost in the remake, which is really just for those who can't or won't watch a subtitled film.  Fans of the original will still have the original.

There's been some damn fine cinema come from Hollywood, so why it gets singled out to be dismissed as a crapola factory escapes me, as the UK industry has produced some amazing dross, likewise Korea (where Oldboy was made), and France gave us the live-action Asterixes.

Wasn't 'that twist' the same twist at the end of War Inc?  No-one seemed to care about it then, so it might not be that big an issue with execs.

Quote from: "Funt Solo"Wow, that's a sweeping generalization.

From the rest of your post, there's apparantly a lot of it going about.

Photos of the cast are showing up here and there.  It looks a bit glossy, though that might just be the pre-outbreak scenes: http://io9.com/5076587/could-the-surviv ... withdrawal
The worst that can happen is that we dismiss it after an episode or two and hope that its success will lead to better genre shows getting made.

For some reason I keep thinking of Aussie saturday morning post-viral apocalypse kiddie show The Tribe, which I always seemed to end up watching in a hungover daze with a bit of toast in one hand and a cup of sugary tea in the other, and always seemed more or less identical to Hollyoaks, even with the post-apocalyptic trappings.

As has been mentioned by others, it wasn't a vote for Obama as much as it was a vote for anyone but the Republicans - not so long ago there were people marching on the streets shouting that they'd sooner lose their jobs than see Wall Street speculators bought out of their hole with taxpayers' money, and that kind of anger doesn't go away just because GWB and his rich mates ignore it.  I'm personally of the opinion that if the economic crash had happened further away from the election, it might not have been the same result.

Still good to see him trounce old white money, all the same.
