Hi badboy,

I have a shit load of back issues if you're interested.

And I would'nt bother about what a forbidden planet employee says about the comic, they tend to be the least qualified to comment on such matters.

Welcome aboard.

Did my cinema pick n' mix cost anything like the £2.31 they charged?

That would be a service charge. Not a penalty charge. You can choose not to buy the pick 'n mix, you cannot choose not to pay the bounced cheque charge.

Different thing alltogether.

Jim has hit the nail on the head.

These are disproportinate charges.

Banks can only chare actual costs of such matters, not make a profit from it.

All I'm saying is... if you have been charged for going overdrawn or whatever you can claim back the money. It was illegal for banks to charge you for that in the first palce.

If you took out a loan with a loan shark knowing that if you didn't pay back 500% interest daily or whatever (which people have) would you think well that's perfectly legal 'cos I knew the terms and conditions when I got into it.

I think not.

It's not about what agreement you entered into, it's about weather it was a legal agreement in the first place.

Do it if you want to, don't of you don't.

I did and I'm £600 better off today than I was yeaterday and will continue to do it until I have gone through all my bank accounts claiming back what I can.

It's not about breaking any agreement. It's about the charges they impose on such matters.

By law they are only allowed to recover actual costs of breaking the agreement.

It does not cost £39 pounds to process a bounced cheque, The Monry Programme while investigating this matter had a fininancial expert look into it and he came up with a figure of around £3 cost to process a bounced cheque.

Which means that the banks are profitering from customers, which is illegal.

Still, if you don't want to claim you don't have to.

Oh yes and apparently the Halifax can't print out your statements from the branch and they have to send off to head office to do such a thing. This is ballix, what sort of a bank can't print out your details. Shit heads.

Yes, it's a good idea to get receipts for everything and recorded delivery for anything posted.

Your bank may try many delaying tacticts, but as stated above, stick with it.

The banks know they are in the wrong and you may be entitled to hundreds maybe thousands of pounds back.

Some people on the penaltycharges website have reclimed £14,000.

I've a few more banks to go through and a number of credit cards to claim back on.

I'm planning a trip to OZ and a few pages of original artwork with my spoils.

If you have had any hassle from banks about bounced cheques, lack of funds etc.. claim it back.

It's your money.

Off Topic / Illegal banking charges...

I just got £600 refunded from the Northern Bank  because of the extortionate amout they charge for going overdrawn, bounced cheque etc...

I've another claim in to the Halifax for a similar amount.

I recommend anyone who has had these charged levied against them to visit www.penaltycharges.co.uk and follow their advice.

The website is a bit scatty but just stick at it.

Please feel free to email me for any additionl advice if needed.

I could see them doing the colour stories at the same price but a lower page count per volume, or cancelling the line before it gets to the colour episodes.

I always thought 'Stiltman' from Daredevil was a fairly crap villan.

He's a man with long legs.. ohh the terror... he might steal the lead from my roof.
