I like it too!

I don't get why most people have such a downer on it.

I question the appeal of having a picture of an old fella next to one's old fella, but it's not a bad likeness.

Is that Prune Face from Dick Tracy?

I just got a replacement screen for my dell.

Its a 17 incher and glossy. screen cost 100 quid. fitting was 20.

a 15 inch screen should be between 70 - 90 quid depending on make model etc...

Can i ask just HOW you put your thumb through it?

Games / Re: Harry Potter lego

Those lego games are class. Indy, star wars, batman my son loves them all!

I'm sure the harry potter one will be up to scratch.

The boy keeps asking for lego back to the future and lego dr who, I have to keep explaining that they dont actually exist as yet. But they would make great games!

Well, I do currently live in Bangor, which is actually quite a nice place to live. From my door I have pubs, restaurants, beach, marina, parks, takeaways, off license, public transport, library, leisure centre, hospital/health center, Asda, tesco, co-op and all manner of shopping all within walking distance, not to mention the totty flaunting itself on hot summer days.

It took me half an hour to find a pub that did food at lunchtime when I was camping in Larn recently, I eventually got directions from a pub with a sign saying 'restaurant upstairs' to tell me where to go to get food (which was lovley).

But, I did spend most of my youth in Antrim and that didn't have much more to offer than Larne for a teenager. Gettin away from there was a blessed relief.

I thought that there was some vague connection with the crashed alien ship in Alien and the Predators as in the crashed alien ship was seeding planets with them or if not the ships humanoid pilot was transporting alien eggs .The dead pilot looked alien like but not like the aliens themselves so it seems like there is a third species involved or that the aliens were a subspecies related to the pilot.

Also in Alien the crew of the ship were asked specifically to investigate the signal that was given out by the crashed ship which could mean that the company already had some knowledge of the aliens prior to the events in the film. With regard to the fossilised pilot its curious why the alien eggs were not also fossilised since they were also exposed to the atmosphere

It is an interesting proposition but it really will only be good as its script and its a shame that the original scriptwriters for Alien and Aliens couldnt be involved instead of this upstart Hollywood scriptwriter.

As I understand it the company DID know about the alien and deliberalty sent them to investigate the signal in the hope that they would bring back a creature. Exactly how they expected to caputre and contain it after it had killed all the crew of the Nostromo and arrived back at Earth is another matter.

As for the eggs, I just assumed they were placed there relatively recently, before the crew got there, just how recent I couldn't guess... weeks, months maybe.

I'd like the original Alien writer Dan O'Bannan involved in this.... I don't see why Cameron should be in any way involved with this. The film is based on O'Bannon characters (as much as a fossil can be a character) and I'm sure he knows more than anyone the history behind the space jockey and the crashed ship it was found in.

I watched ALIEN3 'special edition' last night and I still think it's a great film. Not much more added to the special edition, a few wee scene additions or extended scenes. Why it was changed from an Ox to a dog I don't know... was there supposed to be two aliens in this at some point in the development of the film??

I got 50% but it was mostly guesswork.

As for 'Ulster Scots is a dialect which is spoken in Northern Ireland.' well it's true but I suspect more people can and do speak Klingon than Ulster Scots.

What a stupid set of questions.

Can I go live in Australia now please?

Has humanity encountered any other alien life forms aside from the predators in that universe I wonder. (If we take AvP as being part of the continuity.) I remember a throwaway line in Aliens when the marines are laughing about their exploits and they seem to make reference to another species. One of the guys says something along the lines "Yours was a male", and the other said "with them it doesn't matter." Oo-er.

*Incidentally, I actually quite liked AvP. I quite liked the conection with Weyland Yutani and Lance Henrickson's character... although it confuses the coming of Bishop 2 in Alien 3... again depending on interpretation. I agree it could have been better though. I've yet to see AvP:R. Some say it was worse. Others better. Most the former, but I'll still watch it and decide for myself sometime. ;)

Yeah in ALIENS didt't one of the marines ask if this was another bug hunt (or something).

The Bishop in Alien3 was an android. When he gets hit over the head you can see his ear hanging off in following scenes.

I also think AVP wasn't a bad film, and I really liked Alien3.

I'm not sure how you can work humans into this prequal. If it's dealing with the space jocky then the story will take place several thousand/hundreds of thousands years in history.

The space jocky was fossilised by the time John Hurt found it, how long does it take for fossels to form?

A long time I'm guessing.

Is it just me or is the background on the top part of the page gone all dark making reading the active topics, unread posts etc... unreadable?

I just checked for this in IE8 but I'm not seeing the issue. Can you screenshot it for me?

Edit: Might have been a stray CSS entry I just took out. Can you test and confirm/deny?

The footer of the page is transparent. This makes some of the text and drop downs hard to read/locate, as it so clashes with Tor Cyan's legs, and Ukko.

Yep, IE only. Looks like a failure to clear floats right at the end. I'll have a poke around.
Edit: Nope, stray form element not being closed. Fixed.

Is OK now.. I'm still on ie7 by the way.
