Is it just me or are there generally fewer sound FX than there used to be in comics? Any lettering droids out there who can confirm/deny?

Having said that, this prog's finale of ten-seconders gives us the glorious 3-panel combo of
THOOOM!
BRRAKKA BRRAKKA BRRAKKA
KLAANNNG

and you can't argue with them apples

My fave sound effects are 'thwipp' and 'snikkt' ... oops, sorry, wrong comix.
Queen Firey-Bou has got me scared - I promise never to mention that thing that I don't know anything about ever again!

Couple of things pique my curiosity about this page -
1. What the hell does Koom Skrree mean? There's nothing more annoying than an obscure fanboy reference you think you should get but don't!
2. What were the banned usernames banned for? Just what sort of Zragian behaviour warrants ejection from this place?

WOW - that's pretty damn cool! Not a vocation for the imaptient.

Have you ever checked out some of the 3D pavement art that's out there? - try a google image search there's tons of it about and some of it is incredible.

this looks pretty good - I've saved link to read properly later (along with a gazillion other websites, youtube videos etc!)
However, I can't really seem to get into comics on a screen. All that scrolling up and down or shrinking till it's too small to read properly. That's not a proper comic dammit!

I've taken another look and I can't see any 3D pyramids or pictures of Ms Lohan!
Thank you for directing me to the hot news link about li-lo peeing in cabs though. I do like to keep up to date with current affairs.

I've also heard bad things about ultimates 3, but I will also probably buy it as 1 and 2 were so good.

Nostalgia is a killer - a fondly remembered comic can turn out to be crap when bought years later - I can't believe that I actually enjoyed Marvel Secret Wars in the 80's, or that I paid £15 for it recently!
oh, the shame

"even monumentally-awful books can be justified as a purchase"
I disagree! Unless you're Bruce Wayne/Tony Stark wealthy, it's impossible to own it all. We need to choose the good stuff we want on our shelves.
Sometimes we shell out £10+ and end up with something very disappointing.
If you want another example of "lured into spending cash for crap", I give you DC's "countdown to infinite crisis" - Identity Crisis & OMAC project were excellent, so I bought another forty quides worth of kak!

if it's got an X in front of it, it's designed to cash in on your loyalty in some way.

Books & Comics / worst comic purchase

I'm inspired by the "worst batman Comic" thread.

With Batman I only tend to shell out for what i know is quality (libraries are there for the rest!)
But I did buy "Superman True Brit" - in snecking hardback! Damn you John Cleese!

What's been your greatest waste of money?
