How good is Nick Dyer's art on that FS.  I could look at it all day, the brilliance of the light, the 3D modelling of the distinctive faces, the use of empty spaces in panels...

In fact, together with McCrea, Brooker, Culbard and Kendall I'd defy anyone to find another comic that has a fresher, more stylistically diverse and utterly gorgeous roster of storyreling art.

Yes, this is the best Nick Dyer art I've seen to date - I think I prefer him in black and white - and also the best McCrea art I've seen.  The latter has a touch of Vince Locke and also Frank Miller when he was good, and the 80's letratone effects just elevate it to the sublime.  Like I say, top prog. 

agreed - Dyer's inking is fantastic - the lighting and shadows are really well done. He just gets better and better.

And those others are pretty darn fine too!

[High Rise]

Quite surprised to find that Film 4 are airing 2016's High Rise tonight.
Kudos to my other half for hitting record earlier - it's already showing (likely still available on catch-up though).

Based on the very familiar premise, I had to google the date Ballard wrote that last night to see if he'd had been reading Dredd or Wagner had been reading Ballard - turns out to be 1975 so old J.G. got there first!

Regarding last issue, I'm glad we're starting to see more of the Dark Judges themselves, and I had a thought about how this may go - I think maybe [spoiler]Fairfax will end up becoming Judge Fear. All that flashback stuff about about his psychological triggers during training and that Sidney took him under his wing - maybe  as Deadworld falls he will be forced to "gaze into the face of" his darkest fears and this will push him over the edge, at which point Sidney will welcome him back into the fold. He may end us as Fire or Mortis, but if it's any of them I'd bet Fear[/spoiler]

And the art is jaw-droppingly good. I enjoyed Tales of Deadworld more than the first series of Fall, but it's all good man, it's all good!

Hopefully they'll fix the pronunciation of "Souther" in this version.
