Just seen on Sky News the Wachowski brothers have announced their new movie is to be V For Vendetta, to star Natalie Portman (as Eve, obviously).

(Looking at the internet I see it's not exactly new news but now it's at least confirmed)

I though Andrew Currie did a great job on Dredd myself.

Not too keen on the cover though. Still think these progs are better than the old comic annuals where you often got reprints of old strips from another comic entirely together printed on crap paper.

Oh, it was a PANTOMIME - I thought it meant she fell off a real beanstalk.

Funnily enough I find it easy to get to sleep. In fact I can do it with my eyes closed.

Blunket could have the decency to have an ugly bird and keep the lookers for the rest of us, I mean it's not like it makes any difference to him is it?

If you don't have Quicktime try pasting the address into Realplayer.

Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka
The Amazing Chocolateer
Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka
Everybody give a cheer!

Don't know about anyone else but the trailer I've been watching looks FANTASTIC.

I adored the book, though Wonka was even more psychotic in the film (Wilder was brillianty cast but his "Good DAY sir!" rant at the end left me psychologically scarred), so this looks more the (golden) ticket.

Love the Looma-land flashback and Mike Teevee now also addicted to computer games.

Sin City 1, beautiful, involving, moody art, and the polar opposite of everything Striker it trying to achieve.

Simon Callow was on something tyhe other day, either Des & Mel or Richard & Judy.

He's just been filming for Doctor Who playing Charles Dickens, who teams up with The Doctor to fight an alien invasion.

Sounds fun, if a little like a Don't-Go-There Future Shock.

Well not why exactly, they're probably good entertainers and everything but did anyone else wonder why they had a whole South Bank Show devoted to them? I thought the accolade was reserved for artists of particular creative merit and social relevance such as The Smiths, not pub rockers made good. What about Pulp for a start? And how deeply can you really analyse: "You've got me in a spin and you're behind the steering wheel" or even "don't let the bell's end"? Reckon even Justin and co must have been bewildered to have been picked.

Could it be the South Bank Show people just don't really know much about pop music after the 60s but felt they had to pick a band to seem in touch?

Oh well, least it wasn't Oasis.

Strap one round your body or head. Hide round a corner in the office corridor, when someone comes along pretend that a giant has impailed you with an enormous pencil.

Yep, shame really cos Avid was quite a funny character when he first appeared on Big Brother as the fan who just overstepped the line into obsessiveness, now just resorts to crass obscenity when he can't think of anything funny.

Oasis.

Plagurised tunes, meaningless humourless lyrics, dull musicianship, illiterate charmless  individuals. every song you can hear where they've been listening to. It's one thing to rip off The Beatles but another to do it so badly.

Random case in point: How can, little by little, the wheels of your life slowly fall off? How they can be more successful than The Stone Roses and The Seahorses beats me.
