Did you hear about the dyslexic conspiracy theorist?

He thought Lee Harvey Oswald was a pasty.

I wrote that.

"Anyone know what happened to David Pugh?"

Actually he was seen at Glenn Fabry's wedding, though I hear one the wedding night Dave took over from Glenn after a couple of minutes to "get the job finished on time."

David Pugh also drew Dan Dare towards the end of the new Eagle towards the end of it's run, which I think was possibly 1994.

I've found the pic od Billy Bragg reading 2000AD. Can't see what he's reading though, no doubt some lefty Pat Mills strip.

I also had a pic of Hank's friend Billy Bragg reading it. No references in any of the songs though.

I think we can safely assume that at least one member of Transvision Vamp once read 2000AD.

"Angry that he was axed from the new Crossroads Benny donned his hat and went to war."

He didn't think it too Benny.

Personally I think all these conspiracy theories are all invented by the same people in a room somewhere.

I agree a tribute is in order, though I remember it being dicussed at a Dreddcon 1 I think and noone was quite sure about what had happened to the guy. Was it mentioned at all in 2000AD?

ACtually, I always liked the idea of Sugar being a prohibited substance like drugs in Mega City 1 , but was there ever a strip that explained the thinking behind it, e.g. depiction of sugar abuse/addiction?

I think there was a thread about this a while ago on the newsgroup but I can't remember much about it now. Without getting to Trekkie about it, what is the current legal status on Sugar, Coffee, Tobacco, Alcohol, and Umpty Candy?

Like you I don't have the same nostalgia for the character, though I really enjoyed stories like The Moses Incident in Best Of 2000ADs in the late 80s. However, like the early Strontium Dog reprinted recently in the Meg, this story while fun suffers from the same problem of it seeming like Wagner is simply making it up as he goes along. I know that's what writers do but I mean from page to page. They just keep going through portals or holes or doors and appear in strange places. Bit of drama wouldn't go amis, or purpose - The Final Solution had tons of that.

"The idea is to pitch an idea for a multi part 2k story to the powers that me."

A Freudian slip if ever I heard one.
