I'm surprised Tharg still regularly devotes so much prog space to a strip that doesn't sell in collected form or in the US

Because it's very popular with a significant section of our readership, who constantly ask when it's due to return, but doesn't translate all that well to trades.

Is that significant section just many many many emails from Colin_YNWA? Maybe his magic dancing helps produce these requests to the Nevre Centre?

Started the never ending process of collecting signatures and soon to be added, sketches in mine!

As you can see, Lena added her block name ;)

I have the edition numbered 26/500, the one after yours.

Will anyone add in Sternhammer block I wonder?

Looks like a nice old fashioned cinema from the images and a perfect venue to experience Dredd!   :)
Screen 1 is HUGE and very grand, like an old theatre coverted to a cinema

Excellent, thats where I went to see Dredd when it was released so definately return if this goes ahead.

Cover as mentioned before, took a while......but now top marks.

Dredd - As mentioned by Dark Jimbo, a wired feel to this story. Probably down to Dredd interrogating witnesses 'Columbo' style, he should have just threatened cube time and come down on them like a ton of bricks, very odd soft policing from the hard man of the Law. That said the rest of the story was ok, curious to see where they have dumped our mutant protangonist, looks like a crazy section of the Cursed Earth rather than the Meg.

Sinister/Dexter - Well, at least Finny didnt shoot all the guards. WAY too many funts etc for my liking (even worse than last week) though the art is very good, the ladies have a grittier, believable look to them rather than just being eye candy.

Brass Sun - As much as I like the story, this instalment was quite forgettable which is a pity as this adds a real different edge to the prog. The ever changing coloured hair on the captain was back this week!

Aquila - Wow, what a great opener. Really glad there has been action 'off-camera' and some of the executions have already occured, gives a sense of urgency to the strip that the reader is already trying to catch up. Some excellent artwork from Leigh Gallagher too, as much as Patrick Goddard's book 2 was a slight change of pace, Leigh's artwork suits the blood and guts tale.

3riller - Was not expecting such a downbeat nasty ending which was a ('nice') surprise. I agree that there is scope to expand this Voodoo Planet universe, the brief visit was very enjoyable and the characters really well designed (Crazyface indeed!)

Good topic Sir! Will rack my brains for a happier story than the last comp.

Wow I remember that colour and robot changing cab AND Dan Dare falling out of the window only to land on anti suicide rubber pavements (would still hurt like buggery I reckon) as if it were yesterday.
I hazard a guess re-reading this would be a great use of time so shame on you Dan Dare Foundation!

Sauchie, you werent the only one to think 'Eh? When did Aquila lose his hand and have it replaced by a sword?'
I had to re-look at the cover a couple of times before getting it right in my head. A slight niggle to a very powerful cover, great image and plenty of menace from Blackhawk Mark Two. Even Mrs JudgeRufian said it was a top cover, one of her favourites so far this year.

Review to follow.....

Mine arrived on Saturday morning along with the new Meg and weekly prog which also popped through the letterbox so all in all a bumper 2000 weekend! After flicking through the whole thing, it is quite the book. Very interesting to see the original script, some bits are better, some are not compared to the finished film, could have done with some expanded ancedotes as the few that are in the book are extremely interesting to get a feel for the creative process.
Well worth it!

Good fun, well done!

This weeks Sensitive Klegg must have enlightened us all when we are discussing the actual merits of reading and what we get out of it.

Thats one of the beauties of so many opinions and personalities on the boards, even a simple review thread can spiral into something quite different.

An excellent cover and excellent interior art from Chris Weston in this prog. Seeing the level of finish to the pages lead me to believe that the time taken on these prevent him from being a more regular contributor but then again, it wouldnt stand out so much if he was in the prog every other week. I appalaud your skill (....and forgive you for never getting back to me on an email requesting a Dredd head sketch at kapow 3 years ago).

This two part Dredd has been excellent, as much as I enjoyed Wagner & MacNeils tale of Justice Dept skullduggery, Sensitive Klegg has bought back some fun, excitment and proper Mega City madness to the prog. Also the character of Sensitive Klegg has been very well rounded and certainly in my opinion, some one human (i know i know hes an alien, such is the writer and artists skill!) to root for in the JD world.

Total thumbs up and hope to see his next adventure into the Cursed Earth (a totaly perfect end to the story BTW). Mrs Judgerufian as a non prog reader was very happy he survived the Hunters club and is a bit more hooked on the prog thanks to this story.

Turning to the rest....

Brass Sun - after last weeks return, a decent episode with some more world building and strange new character at the end though it felt like a very short episode compared to last week.

3riller - good middle instalment, some history, some great looking monsters at the end (great design Mr Holden) and I am looking forward to the wrap up next week.

Future Shock - Thought it was going to be a better twist on the basis of real names so a bit non plussed it turned into zombie in the cupboard. Nice artwork by Nick Dyer on a non sci-fi subject.

Sinister Dexter -  Liked the artwork and slightly chuckled at the Amazon bashing.......but I am also in the camp of this has gone on in the same vein for far too long. As with this years earlier tale (which feels like it finished only 3 weeks ago) I really hope they get to their final destination soon and do whatever they have to with a minimum of funts (after so many years this is just annoying and childish now) and their saga limps to a final close. Bet it will end in a hail of bullets and they kill everyone....yawn.

I was lucky enought to win the new Delvin Waugh collection in the last draw as I was chosen out of the hat of the voters so this is well worth 10 minutes of your time folks!
