As promised - 'The Gentlemen of Bad Company'

If you copy the IMG tag text from the side in Photobucket and paste it directly into your post, it should work:

Edit to add: That's great, by the way...

Cheers!

Jim

Thanks for the help (and comment!) Jim!

Yea, the frame where Dredd and Anderson stagger out of Proteus is one of my all time favourites. Great work from Steve Dillon...

Made all the better by Ron Smiths centre page spread in the next episode, even JD had to have a sit down....

General / Re: On Re-Reading The Judge Child

From starting to read 2000AD around the Ron Smith era of JD, and having the good fortune to own 3 original pages of 'Rabid', his work is so good and inventive that he is easily one of the classic JD artists.
One thing always struck me about his depictions of MC-1 and that is his love of skyscrapers for the blocks rather than the McMahon or Ezquerra domed towers.
On the actual Judge Child era, I was always a bit non-plussed at the conclusion but years laters with Destiny's Angels and City of the Damned and including these when viewing it as a whole saga, its quite the long game storytelling and pays off very well.
Going back to Ron Smith's artwork, his busted up Dredd in the last episode of City of the Damned is incredible, even better than McMahon's crawling Dredd at the end of the Cursed Earth.

To help defend Judge Death, he doesnt rip your heart out, just reach into your chest and stop your heart beating - much more kid-friendly as its gore-free.

General / Waiting for me at home today - Zenith!
08 October, 2013, 07:22:10 PM
On arriving home this evening, my wife thrust an unexpected package into my hands. Curiously I opened it up noticing it was from Forbidden Planet and thinking I hadn't ordered anything lately, and to my surprise, under a smattering of those polystyrene wotsits, was waiting my copy of the Zenith limited edition hardback (no.96 of 1000)!
I promised myself it was going to be a Christmas present so I have resisted reading it but after a good flick through, I can assure everyone it was 100 quid well spent!
Anyone else received their copy today?

Great stuff from everyone. Judgerufian, when I first looked at Rogue, I thought he was smoking a pipe...now I can't under it! Excellent drawing, though. :-)
Thanks Darren, I was trying to copy the poses of the original Usual Suspects poster, can definitely see what you are talking about though! Rogue Gentleman - Pipe smoker of Nu Earth!

From Judgement Day

'As senior judge present, I am giving the order, BURN THE WALL!' (accompanied by a tremendous Ezquerra shouting Dredd close up)

An original Robo-Hunter (and by that I mean Wagner/Gibbons rather than Millar/Hogan/Hughes) animation series for kids would still be high on my list.

Crazyfoxmachine - Add a disclaimer that your decision on the rules are FINAL and if its not liked, dont enter!

Everyone remember that this is done for FUN and in people's spare time so CFM should be thanked for their efforts, after all some of us who enter the competition can only dream of achieving third place or the FB most liked placing and you dont hear us complaining...!

the bigger question is will Blackhawk count? (as Alan Grant took over when the character moved to 2000AD from Tornado)?

General / Re: Sequel to Harry Twenty?

One of those great stories where I'd love to see a movie version (suspending belief about the capsule building of course) and its almost a beliavable role for Jason Statham given his likeness to Harry Twenty.

No sequel is needed, better teach your son that some stories just end! And as I'm reading the collected BlackHawk, dont let him read that, the ending is truly terrible!
