Last I heard someone had given him a job as Middle East peace envoy.  Got a bit of a property portfolio going on by all accounts as well.

The Hawk books keep closer to the original aspect ratio than the Titan books IIRC.  The series skipped over some of the later stories but pretty faithfully reprinted the earlier and probably more popular stuff.  The Bellamy / Watson run of the last few years is the part that they did not print in it's entirety.  Titan is still working through the Hampson years.  Whether they will be more complete on the final years remains to be seen.

There has been discussion on this board previously about the pros and cons of each.  I toyed briefly with trying for the Titan over the Hawk editions to complete the series as some of the later ones can be harder to find and so more expensive but this does seem to be cyclical at times.  The Terra Nova trilogy has always, and curiously, been hard to find.  On the other hand The Man From Nowhere and Reign of the Robots appears quite frequently.

Personally I'm glad I stuck with the Hawk books, having had a gander at the Titan editions.  I know TroutMark books in Cardiff still has a selection in stock.

That has to be bang to rights JBC.  One of my colleagues at school has a 14 year old son who has been diagnosed with Leukemia.  She has spent most of the past year or so back and forth to hospital with him.  She remains resolutely upbeat even though there are times when she wants to crumble.

Nietzsche put it nicely didn't he: "That which does not kill us makes us stronger."  I'm firmly of the view that it is only a failure / mistake if we let it cripple us.  If we can pick ourselves up again, dust ourselves off and throw ourselves back into the fray then we can count it victory.

Like TLS says, there just aren't the words JBC.  It is galling that such people 'appear' to get away with this sort of thing.  I hope you've got some evidence of what went on for the authorities.

Love the way your handling it mind.  I can imagine all the recriminations and crap that would be going through my head if I were in the same position.

As Pratchett said (and is enshrined on my classroom door):  Nil Illigitimo Carborundum.

But you're right - this is the coolest place on the entire interweb.

I blame the source material.  It's twisted all our minds!!!!  Our parents were right to try and ban it in our youth.

True, and if it was the odd prog every blue moon then it wouldn't be an issue.  As I said above though, the last few months have seen a high frequency of late arrivals so I was wondering if there was something going on.  The thread for the prog review about a fortnight ago was more about the prog's absence than content so it doesn't seem to be isolated to just our local posties.  IIRC there was an issue at the distributers which was behind that one.  To be honest I'm more curious than irritated.

I've noticed ALL post seems to be later/less reliable,

Surely not under the more efficient privatised owners?

On a more serious note, perhaps you're right.  I've not really paid much attention as the majority of mail these days is crap that tends to be shoved to one side.

I've been subscribing for a good few years now.  I've known the 'odd week' where it was a day or so late but not the odd month or so where it was consistently late.  This is decidedly unusual.

Well, yet another week where the prog has failed to turn up on Saturday.  Being as it was a Bank Holiday weekend I was expecting a Tuesday show.  No joy.

Anyone got any ideas what is going on?

Well if we're going down that road then Prog 1984 has got to be either Torquemada or Dredd Big Brother style.
