... it would be absurd if the town I lived in, named after its pond, lost the pond.

Well, I suppose "Pondscum" is a better place to live than that Austrian intercourse-named town ... ::)

...Although he really needs to get that muzzle out of the dirt!

Oh No !!! Do not let the corporal see that

Blood, Aye.  Mind you, not a problem with the SA80.  Still miss the SLR.

I think you might find that this is not the first time he has drawn Dredd.

IIRC he did one around about the 400's, a bat mugger story.  It was very Alan Davies-esque which might be why it doesn't register.

Have to have a troll tonight methinks.

Possibly a polite reminder that although there are a limited number of forumites these days this is still a very public place?

Mr Mills may not be overly concerned about the opinions of a small, obsessive group of readers but extreme behaviour has resulted in lampooning in print in the past, no?

I can see someone like Wagner writing one of those Dredd parodies of "Strictly ..."

Contestants have to perform their dance in a live mine-field or while being chased by carnivorous animals, a laser mesh activates every time they mis-step ...

After judgement they are dunked in piranha infested tanks.  The scores indicate the amount of time removed so higher scores mean they are out quicker.

.... and Dredd arrives just in time to save the last contestant from losing more than just their limbs.

Thanks for the observations guys.

I'm going to go down the optimistic "I'm being paranoid" route for now whilst monitoring my reactions.

This is the big problem with the BPD and the bit that drives me nuts.  Knowing that it is happening helps on one level but the added stress doesn't!

Thanks for this.  I know that my thinking gets distorted when I feel like I'm under attack.  That's why I asked the question.

I've recently had to go through disciplinary because of my 'sense of humour'.  I've always viewed outrageously extreme threats of physical violence as obviously a joke not meant to be taken seriously.  It seems that this is no longer the case and is viewed as potentially discriminatory.  Fair enough.  I accept.

That said it does mean that right now I am being hyper vigilant and possibly not correctly interpreting.

It may well be that the new head (different person to the one I'm meeting with) is making sure everything is thoroughly documented after last year's blow out.  I think the point about not understanding BPD is also valid.  Quite often there is difficulty to wrap heads around my self-perception.

Helpful.  Thank you.

I'm trying to work out what is going on at work at present.  I have a diagnosis for BPD which I disclosed when I started.  Last year one of my line managers pushed me over the edge and then claimed that I had thrown something at her.  As a result I spent most of lockdown waiting to find out what was going to happen.

Since I've come back we've got a new head.  A more senior manager who I used to trust and rely on, had built a good relationship with, has been a bit of go-between / sounding board.  All of a sudden though our meetings have become much more formal and she spends most of the time making sure she is minuting everything.

I know that I tend to struggle interpreting motives, especially when I'm in a dark place.  That said, the nature of the questions that she now asks and this focus on documenting everything is setting off alarm bells.  I want to believe that this is just me being unreasonable but I can't help questioning what is going on.

This sounds really stupid but is it possible for an employer to provide too much support as a way of breaking someone?

It feels like a dusty basement that everyone's forgotten about, haunted by the ghosts of yesteryear...

Ah, that would be the forumites then ...

since this week's prog is a nosho either I've gone with contacting.

Deathsquad has turned up though.  I'm wondering if it is because they're putting all their effort into parcels.

FPTP is the root of all of the shit we've suffered in recent history. Kill that and everything potentially changes. But I can't see it ever happening.

Aye and nope .... in that order ...

Fair point on the rest.  It's depressing watching the London labour party crawl up its own arse all the time.

See one of the things I'm trying to make sense of is why people support Conservatives.  When I read up on it I can see the appeal.  All the talk of respect, tradition and individualism makes sense.  There's a certain 'safety' in the sorts of ideas that are mentioned.

It does seem that some of these ideals have been taken to extremes though.  I mean, Thatcher's old "there is no society, just the individual" is correct on one level.  it takes individuals and personal responsibility to make society work.

If I take care of my own health and wellbeing then I am not a 'burden' on those around me, more to the point I can contribute to the health and wellbeing of others.  Then again if I am unable to do this through no fault of my own that does not necessarily make me a 'burden', rather someone who can be turned back into a productive citizen again.

Over the last 40 odd years this idea has been distorted all out of proportion though.  "Rugged Individualism" has morphed into selfishness.  It's no longer a matter of making sure we interact appropriately but defending our personal rights whilst ignoring responsibilities.

The likes of Trump and Johnson are the worst manifestations of this in the political sphere largely because they bring so many along with them.  Enablers make sure they have the chance to do what they want to do out of self interest.  In the meantime the rest of us get screwed.

Is anyone else still waiting on theirs?

I've had neither Prog nor Meg this week.

saw a postie driving up and down the street earlier looking for an address ... seems like parcel delivery is their focus right now.  Only seen a letter delivery once this week.  Still awaiting the prog and meg.
