Off Topic / Re: Are you "dynamic"?
26 October, 2009, 09:01:45 PM
Dynamic -active, almost chaotic, like the hellish universe we live in where stars are eaten by supermassive black holes, galaxies collide, hurling whole solar systems into the void (or into the churning merging double black holes at the new centre), supernovaes and hypernovaes wipe out god knows how many life forms and existence hangs by a precarious thread between horror and damnation.

I need to get out more.

Apart from twoth, Zarjaz etc, mostly star wars comics, especially Knights of the old republic which I really like. Also some Image stuff, new series like Descendant. I occasionally get a DC or Marvel comic but it's usually a space based series like Legion.

Some manga too Appleseed and Blame!. And just started gettign Murky Depths -has comics and prose stories. Fun.

Nerd alert. Dragonlance. read 'em when they first came out in paperback. Loved the first three Autumn, Winter, Spring, but I've hardly ever read any of the others apart f rom a weird one about a the twins in a city where cats are being stolen(didn't they use that in the Men from Uncle as well). :)

have you checked out Zarjaz and Dogbreath, Futurequake etc? All produced by  members of these boards (not me), but pillars of the community like Bolt 01.

Hope no one minds, here's a link or two

They have the advantage of being small press and you get to draw your fave 2000Ad characters.

There's also several writers like enigmatic Dr X and the legendary shark you could always PM them.(Hope they don't mind me mentioning them :-[)

And there's always the uk small press scene like this:-

one of my chums is off on a trek up Kilimanjaro.

Are there any people left in the country who haven't done this ;)

it's for chari- dee! Great Ormond Street hospital. His local hospital told him his son would die and they shouldn't bother doing anything. Fortunately a visiting doc from Great Ormond proposed some treatment and it worked. Him and another colleague with a similiar story are going up next June. i suppose you could just hold a raffle... :), seriously tho,  good for them.
