"Was, when, had.... we cannot live in the past."

Well then, why not leave Saddam in power?  He wasn't filling mass graves anymore.

He filled the mass graves in [1] the Iran-Iraq War, where the men in charge of America then, and now, directly contributed to brutal stalemate, ensuring the war went on as long as possible.  [2] the aftermath of the Gulf War, when the regular soldiers were bombed into oblivion, while the Americans in charge then, and now, allowed the Republican Guard to remain armed and active, helping Saddam soldify his power even amid the chaos.

These men, of whom Cheny and Rumsfeld are the figureheads, are not do-gooders.  They are men who have demonstrated an absolute disregard for human life.  It is not good enough to side with the lesser evil, unless that is the ONLY option.  Siding with the lesser evil was what allowed Saddam to fill his mass graves.  He was not the ONLY option.  And we should not have seen Rumsfeld and Cheney as the ONLY option in this case.

To believe that men like Rumsfeld, Cheney and the rest of the neocons have been converted to freedom and democracy, after years of orchestrating murder and repression, is the same are suggesting that Saddam had changed, or was going to change his ways and become a benevolent dictator.  You can't have it both ways.

The lessons of Saddam should be at the fore of our minds - do not side with evil men.  The enemy of my enemy is not my friend, particularly when he has shown himself to be a ruthless murderer in the past.  And that is why I could not side with the leaders of the War on Iraq.

I used to get a whole range of comics; Powers, the ABC line, X-static, and a few others that caught my eye.

But I missed issues, I found it expensive, so now I tend to get collected editions of stuff with a good review.  Currently trying to get all the Invisibles books and Alan Moore's Swamp Thing.

Just make sure, if you take the job, that you join a union.  You wouldn't want to make all those compromises, which will obviously be very hard for you, just to see it all wasted.  I know unions can be crap sometimes, but they are better than nothing.

What on Earth has happened to the balance of this board when I end up agreeing with JimBob?  Even about zombie facist light entertainers leading a coup!

So, you should be free to torture a burglar, should you?  We already have the right to use reasonable force.  Why should anyone be allowed to use unreasonable force?

Tony Martin argued that criminals shouldn't have rights.  He held a shotgun illegally, and he had been refuse his licence as he was because he was a raving nutcase who speaks of killing all the gypsies.  So why should he have any rights.  Especially property rights, surely less valuable than personal physical rights?
