Prog / Re: Matrix revolutions

Peace between man and machine.  Well, apart from a brilliant Goldie Lookin' Chain track, I'll say the same thing I used to answer the people who asked, at the end of the first film, why Neo hadn't already and inevitably won.

Because, what would happen if all those people were released in an instant?  Mass starvation and misery.  Neo really had to go for a negotiated settlement, while the machines just had to kill the free humans.  Given this balance of forces, Neo would have to offer quite reasonable terms to the machines, and this would involve a gradual move away from human bio-electricity.

But like I've said before, using humans as a source of electricity is just plain dumb.  Even if it would be a viable way of producing electricity, why not use cows that could be satiated by a much more simple simulation?  Or lobotomise the batteries.  If humans are exceptional, then we'd have to include some mystical stuff about souls and consciousness, which brings me to what the Matrix *should* have been - a vast organic computer network, making our own minds, working together, our prison.  What is the Matrix?  We are.

Actually, I haven't watched the final film.  The second one was so poor I was embarrassed for everyone involved.  So all this might have happened.  Doubt it though.

Well, aha!  I have a Ceasar played by Jeremy Sisto (crazy guy from Six Feet Under),a Cato played by Christopher Walken, a Sulla played by Richard Harris, and a Pompey played by Richard North (Mr Big, Sex and the City).

End of the Republic flush!

(with ambitious tv movie values)

Congratulations... though I am reminded of the scene from Monty Python's The Meaning of Life when we cut to the Protestant couple (across the road from the 'every sperm is sacred' Catholics).  'It's the same with us', she says.  'We've got two kids and we've had sex twice.'

Not a Nazi, but a 'champion of individual freedoms'.  Mainly freedoms of people with a lot of money.

He (and his brother) hung around with a lot of people that had, in my mind, pretty nasty political opinions.  Friends of Pinochet (he made Chile a good place to do business), that kind of thing.

Well, given that I can't spell syndrome, or write a sentence that makes sense, I'd sum it up as an unsuitable, boring story, poorly written.

Look for the comic adaptation coming soon!

My favorite rejection letter is from 'Take a Break'.  It's just a form letter, but it reminds me of the absolutely unsuuitable story I submitted.

Keep trying Mr C.

Isn't Beadle still locked up in that fort in the Thames?  Didn't Five just leave him there when that series petered out - the last contestant winning keeping him there until the series is recommisioned?

Dogville - I'll second that - if you get the chance to see it make sure you don't watch it with one of those prats who'll happily ruin the atmosphere of a film.

Nah, the should have come out of the trapdoor, knackered and covered in blood, and then, mistaken for zombies get blown away by the police - like NotLD.

Then all the ZOMAID stuff.

Then the Dawn of the Dead muzak over the credits.
