'When I were stopping with t'Iban headhunters of Borneo', is start to one of my stories that always gets my friends groaning, as is:

'When I were a lad I dug up pre-Columbian Arawak pottery in t'Dominican Republic.  Din't know t'value of the stuff, chucked it all away when we left.'

And others.  I've been very lucky, having divorced parents and a globe-trotting (more like strolling, actually - Hong Kong at the mo.) Dad! ;)

If you want to take the mountain pass, turn to page 142.

If you want to wait until the weather clears, turn to page 39.

I like to read Littlejohn, the New York Post and Newsmax whenever I need to generate some energy.  Like the Hulk.

The Guardian (online) - come on, what did you expect?  The Socialist Worker?  The Morning Star?

I sometimes also read the Times, and read quite a few online papers/news sources.

I used to love 'Nelly Park' (?) in Belgium when I was little.  But now, haven't got one.  I like 'em, but I couldn't say I had a favourite, Disney World too sterile, Alton Towers too often in a state of development, Flamingo Land too cruel and the Pleasure Beach too tacky.

Okay, okay, I surrender to the mighty mouse of Disney.

The arguments against the cynical manipulation of children's enthusiasm for profit are okay, but then we get onto demonic D&D and this:

'Today, government schools from coast to coast are teaching students the skills once reserved for the tribal witchdoctor or shaman in distant lands. Children everywhere are learning the pagan formulas for invoking "angelic" or demonic spirits through multicultural education, popular books, movies, and television. It's not surprising that deadly explosions of untamed violence suddenly erupt from "normal" teens across our land.'

Er, yeah, right.

Right-o, I'll be checking out my local 'Works' on the way back.

For all those in Cardiff, check out the Golden Grove Bargain Bookstore in the town centre.  They often have GN going cheap.

And if you're in York, get to the Yorkshire Book Sale (or whatever it is called) before I do.  Plenty of GN in there (upstairs).  That's on the corner opposite the Food Weighhouse.

I had the same thought watching Phantasm II the previous night.  How did they get the money - not a lot, I know, but enough to blow some things up?

Gibson v Ezquerra.  The closest tie of the round.  At full time, it ends 0-0.  Gibson scores first in extra-time with one of his well-shaped females, but Ezquerra's international experience keeps him in the game.  End of extra-time, 1-1.  Ezquerra wins on penalties.

Ranson v Kennedy.  Ranson's solid, realistic outfit is beaten in a close game by Kennedy's more stylised dynamism. 1-2 Kennedy.

Fabry v McMahon.  McMahon's revolutionary development meets anything Fabry can throw at it.  A walkover. 0-4 McMahon.

O'Neil v McCarthy.  McCarthy can't match the witty, grotesque detail thrown at him.  He tries hard to meet this attack head on, but the match finishes 3-1 to O'Neil.
