Sorry Templar, should have posted my sketches here instead of starting a new thread. I failed to use the power of 'looking' before I posted!

Last year's Muppets sketches plus 2 from this year and I thought I'd chuck in a DD by Dave Stokes. You can start weeping now.

If the mods feel this is better suited in the 'original art' thread then feel free to move it over there although that does seem to focus mainly on original pages rather than sketches/commissions.

Anyway, here's what I came back with from T-Bubs.

I was planning on doing twoth when I finished my Batman binds.
Up to volume 12 of Batman at present with only another 30 or so to go...!
I also used Hollingworth and Moss.
Find them very good.
Excellent to see your binds and gives me some ideas for when I do mine.

I have my Batman's ready to go. It will be about a 50 volume bind from Knightfall up until the recent relaunch. I have other things to get bound before that though so that is well and truly on the back burner.
The real beauty is that you can do whatever you like, it doesn't have to be big long running stuff. I have lots of single volume binds. Complete Planetary, a Roger Langridge Muppets one, a Warren Ellis Image mini series collection etc.

As for the differing sizes of the prog. hhmm. I have no problem with the hard backs being different sizes. What I haven't looked at is if the prog has changed size during a calender year? That could prove challenging.

Do you do anything to your comics before sending them off? With the progs I leave them as they are but everything else I remove any double page adds and back covers (if they're not wraparounds)

Hollingworth & Moss Leeds .... I take it your from Leeds ....?? that means your the second 2000ad fan i know in Leeds ( i'm no.1 ) ... lol...

Londoner I'm afraid. When I started getting stuff bound (had over 50 done now. 15 2000 ad plus other various US comic stuff) I tried a couple of different binderies. Most were charging around £30 or more per bind. As H&M were the cheapest I went with them. They charge a flat fee of £13 delivery to send books back so I normally do about 8-10 in a single hit to make the most of it. I try to do it twice a year if funds are available.

I pressed the wrong button on my laptop and posted just as I was starting a sentence. Anyway, had the meg supplements bound as well. 16 per volume so the first 48 have been done. I also knock up some basic contents pages and the bindery add them in. Oh, and a tassel bookmark

have the comics been trimmed and are the spine's kettle stitched or glued ???

Trimmed but negligible loss. Glued and then sewn. Probably 1% gutter loss but not noticeable. I will be returning the defective volume to have it redone. £16.50 per volume seems a lot but that is cheap compared to other companies that do this sort of thing (I use Hollingworth & Moss)

H

Colin - Hoping to get more sketches done at Thought Bubble although I have taken to getting recent sketches down just on normal paper rather than in the books. Just as it's easier to keep them in a folder

Shame the camera was crap. Also I've just noticed the vol 2 of the purple 2009 set has been printed offline.  Arghhh

So, my project is growing. Just had some more books back from the bindery. I now have every prog from 2005 through to 2010 bound in lovely hard covers. Next will be 2011, 2012 and 2002-2004.
