Alrite guys, Im one of the design droids here at the Nerve Centre. I rarely post on here but thought id just give you guys a heads up on stuff...

Yesterday, myself and the rest of the team got to check out some shots from the Dredd movie.

1. Anderson looks great. Yes, she's blonde... (and hot)
2. Bikes look cool.
3. Judges look AWESOME! (and the helmets aren't oversized). Infact the entire Judge outfit looks spot on in my opinion.

You probably knew all of this anyway...

Now we have seen these pics, we are even more excited than we where before! DNA and co are doing a great job and we cant to see more stuff. Bare with us, im sure more pics will be released soon.

Glad someone from the towers came in and poured some riot foam on the situation. I feel some are basing Judgement on some minor vehicle pictures and we need to wait for more information.
I feel the negative minority are getting more of the publicity and are causing damage, ok we have opinions but c'mon wait till there is more pictures and information to base judgement on.
The critical date will be April when the teaser/trailer will be released.
Glad it is looking good according to you, I trust your opinion and of course John Wagner's opinion who is 100% behind it and has a double Carlos thumbs up.
It would be good to release a few more pictures and get people to calm down.

I agree, please don't be put off this production purely by images that have been released thus far. We all have high expectations of this movie and I personally feel with so many important people (Wagner, Jock etc) contributing to this, fans and non fans alike will NOT be dissapointed. It's all to easy to get carried away with any pic's that we see, leaked or not. If we have patience and remain positive we will be rewarded soon enough with 'Official' pic's from the movie. April can't get here quick enough as i'm dying to see the trailer, I know it's gonna be AWESOME!! :)

Being supportive of this production as well as patient is the key issue here as i'm sure the guys behind the scenes are working their as**s off to make this movie the best it can be! Keep up the good work everyone who is working on this, you have my support 110%!!

Everyone is going to give it a chance as they will ALL pay to watch it on the opening night or very soon after and i cant imagine anyone who is a fan not going to see it even if they are a bit non-plussed about what they have seen so far even if it is out of context or whatever.

Not being deliberately contrary Peter- but I WON'T be going to see Dredd at the cinema. Firstly, I only go to the cinema on very special occassions, to see things that I really want to see (or if my wife kicks me out for the evening so she can do girlie stuff), or when I go with my service users. Since my guys are now independent and can go on their own, that particular avenue is no longer there.

The Dredd movie (from the script and the pics we've seen) is a straightforward action flick. I don't go in for action movies, in general, and certainly never pay to see them. So I'll wait for DVD rental, or when I can buy it very cheaply.

SBT

EDIT: If Dredd was a 'PG' or a '12A', I'd take my kids to see it. As it is- probably a '15'- it'll pass me by.

I think it's a shame that you have chosen already not to see Dredd at the cinema purely on the premise of what you have read of the script and the pic's you have seen thus far. I feel that this current production deserves a lot more credit than that. I really don't believe with the input of John Wagner, Jock and others that the finished article will be just a 'straight forward action flick', and I think at this very early stage it's a little unfair to pass it off as such.

This production is in VERY capable hands and I am REALLY looking forward to seeing it in all it's glory as only a cinema can deliver. :)

What I don't understand is why people are judging the look of the film based on candid backstage photos taken by folks who may have only been extras.

I agree, the pic's of the sets and vans look great and will look completely different in the context of the finished film. It has already been stated that they want a gritty, realistic and hard edged feel/look to the film and I believe this achieves that 100%. It does appear as this thread goes on with all the lovely snippets of info (thanks Altered States, much appreciated) and pic's (thanks to those for posting up) that this is lending itself to an Origin's style movie which if true is GREAT!!, as this was never really explored properly in Stallone's 95 version. Although intially sceptical of the costume, which I now feel is more in keeping with the style from when Dredd first made his appearance as well as a base to start from, I now think it looks GREAT!! I believe their intention has always been to make more than the one movie which gives the costume, vehicles and story itself so much scope to evolve all these things in the following prequels.

I just can't wait for the finished film to come out so I can rush to my local cinema and watch it over and over :)

Thanks to the person who posted this as it's great to see the movie costume thus far. I'm not overly happy at first glance but will reserve judgement (excuse the pun) for when the movie is released.
I hope this pic is from the beginning/early scenes of the movie and shows the Judge costume in it's infancy and as the film progresses the uniform develops into the look we know and shows instantly what makes the Judges stand out.
I understand the need for the costume to look practical, not far fetched and silly and going for the 'riot gear' look is a great and down to earth idea but this costume looks too close to what the police around the world currently use today and not 'futuristic' enough.

HELMET - Design is spot on but agree it does look a bit big, a snug closer fitting helmet (as seen in the 1995 movie) looks better and more practical but am happy they chose to go with the original design.

SHOULDER PADS - Are not big enough to offer protection and as these are just as important and recognisable as the helmet need to be bigger and have each pad clearly defined as eagle and plain bars. At the moment they are not in proportion with the  helmet, look flimsy and unimpressive.

BADGE - Very disappointed they chose to copy the design from the 1995 movie instead of having the vison to design their own as once again this is an important and recognisable part of the costume/uniform.

GLOVES - Look great and in fact look the same as the gloves used by myself and Dan for the Judge Minty Project.

As I said earlier i'm hoping this pic is a shot of the costume in it's early stages rather than the finished piece. Fingers crossed we get to see more pic's of what I hope to be a great film, we shall see.....

LAWGIVER - Very impressed, looks solid and instantly recognisable as a Judges weapon.

Hi everyone, 'The Fly' is back  Unfortunatly I cannot make the London shoot due to work commitments. Have a great shoot and I look forward to seeing some great action shots of old faces (you know who you are) and new faces taking part.

Haven't been on here for awhile due to losing internet access, then getting it back, then virus attacks on the PC etc. all in all not a good experience :'(

Hope to see a few of you at London Comic Con on the 17th and 18th July, i'll be going on the 17th hopefully wearing my newly made Batman Costume if it isn't too hot of course!

Many many thanks go to Steven, Steve Green, Daniel, Barry and the rest of the team for making the 14th December for me, the best day of 2009. I throughly enjoyed being given the chance to play a part in this project, and admire the passion and dedication you have brought to your project Steven. It certainly showed on the day.

It was great meeting Edmund, chatting with him and watching him become Judge Minty when he put on the costume. A true professional indeed.

It was also great meeting Greg and getting the chance to speak with him, as well as watch him lift Judge Dredd from the comic's and bring him to life.

Seeing the Judges costumes up close and personal I congratulate Daniel on a superb job well done in bringing the costumes to life on a professional and practical level. I look forward to seeing more great models, props and costumes from you in the near future Daniel. If I can get my second attempt at a Judge Costume close to your standard I will be pleased :)

Thanks to the other guys of the Kovacks Gang (you know who you are) for the fun, experience and 'geek' sharing of everything Dredd and 2000AD. :D

Thanks again Steven for the opportunity, myself and i'm sure many others look forward to seeing the professional shots, stills that David took during the day and of course the finished film itself. I'm sure that you and the team will receive much praise, rewards and addulation when your finished film is shown. ;D

All the best, Simon

Welcome Judge Cassidy

Look forward to seeing your Judge Costume when it's done. How did you come up with the idea of using an Iron Man helmet to make your Dredd helmet from?

OH MY GOD!!! :o Thanks for the heads up on this John, what was this guy thinking. If you're gonna do a character especially one as good as Rogue Trooper you gotta show respect and do it properly. I would have had a quiet word or two in this guy's ear if I had been there and it wouldn't have been nice >:( Shame on him

This is how it's done ;D
