Hasn't Dredd recently made requests to have Roffman put on his cases? (I may have dreamt it) It definitely feels more than just tolerance either way. Then I guess with Dredd, tolerating someone is pretty much as akin to humping their leg for everyone else.

Age of the Wolf: Better for me, more action serves as a distraction. A metal door is still a metal door if it's frozen.. but lame that.

I thought she turned it to ice, which is a bit different. That's how I read it anyway.

Enjoyed the proggage this week, if not as much as the last few. Dredd is still awesome, and the
destruction of the Statue of Judgement
was quite a shock. Gotta disagree with Richard though. Roffman is I feel, a great character who transformed from a constant exasperation for Dredd to an indispensable ally. In recent years I've felt there is a vast amount of respect shared between the two of them.

Thank you Colin for successfully articulating much of what I hate about this comic and answering some of the other niggles I couldn't put my finger on.

I think it's important to bear in mind the hidebound corporate structure these guys were working in too. It's a million miles away from where it is now. When you are one small publication circling the drain in a larger publishing company, if you say 'Hey this is brown sludgy shit, I'm not publishing it', you'll just be replaced by someone who will.

I used to work in a shop with security gates and after a refit once they stopped working. We kept using the tags for the sake of appearance as it was still a deterant. Pissed off Virgin next door though as our tags would set off their gates.

She probably stepped on an alarm tag and it stuck to her foot :)

It's worth adding vols 1 and 2 are in the older format book, and vol 11 will be along when the story is done.

Not that I've seen yet. Seems unlikely as they have just released the first volume again in America and the last volume will be out over here soon. Maybe one day but I haven't seen any mention yet. Worry not about being late to the party. Pick up the first trade and wade in. It's worth the trip.

I also had a glance in the local branch in Cardiff. It was bedlam in there and all preowned seemed to be about 1/2 price. The other half got some final fantasy games or other and I got Fallout New Vegas for a fiver. Which has to be worth it.
One thing that didn't quite gel with me is the explanation of how it happened, in that I didn't feel it was needed. As I was reading, I was thinking, yes, that works, bloody heck that works. Then you get the explanation of Dante having tinkered with the settings of the gun, and I thought, really? He could do that all along? Why didn't Dimitri or others tinker with it for their own ends? I would have thought that White Army tech was beyond everyone in this dimension, and that is why nobody has had a chance to alter it.
That didn't work for me either. Of course the one answer to it, and why he was less concerned about
Dimitri sticking a hole in him
, along with some other oddities and discrepancies is that
Dante still has a crest
. Probably not the case but would fill some odd gaps.
