Off Topic / Re: I don't understand the appeal of...

 ... Harry Potter.
Books or Films. I mean, what is the appeal? It's been done before, and so much better.

"But it gets children reading"

Awesome, but any book with millions of pounds worth of WB advertising would do the same. Get them reading something that doesn't read like it was written in crayon.

OK so I've only read the first book and seen the first film but that was hours of my life stolen I'll never get back. I could have been doing something productive like wanking or burning hair. They didn't inspire me to read / watch any more of them.

It does seem a little odd to apply such scrutiny to a story from a 30 year old kids comic.
But where better to do it

Sorry folks I hadn't seen the other thread.

My bad.  :|

No worries- it happens here all the time.
There is a certain amount of naughtiness going on in the posts above so don't panic!
Can we get this back on topic about bread please  ::)

Books & Comics / Re: Whats everyone reading?

Chronicles of Narnia are arsom. Yeah they wear their intentions on their sleeve, but great childrens books.

I'm reading TPO. Finally got a copy. Looks like Mongoose are selling loads of 2000ad graphs on ebay cheap for some reason. It's a cracking read and makes you appreciate the fact the comic got past prog 50 let alone 500 and 1500

I was always told to put other people before myself gramatically. I don't think it's pretending to be posh, more showing respect.

Not sure Dan Fran had a fair enough crack of a whip to say he was incompetent

It would make for a dull story though wouldn't it

Why shouldn't someone 'dig' a thread up that was last commented on yesterday?

I really enjoyed the way it was handled. Treating the Alien as is and working out how it would affect and be reacted to in the big meg rather than heavy handed exposition to try and force lots of Alien back plot in there.

I wonder how long it took 'em to blur out all those faces and number pates?
Its a clever piece of software that looks for pace structure and numberplates. Its a lot better at numberplates than faces though :) My grandfather at the age of 101 is captured on his mobility scooter outside his house and its blurred the wheels and not his face :)
