John Higgins says he received Pat's script in 2012 (see below), but had other commitments he had to deal with first. Mills has spoken before about the frustration of waiting for artists to become available, meaning he always has to have three or four different strips ready to go at any time:QuoteAs I write this I am working on the very last page of episode 12.

I hope it's better than the last series'. Other than that slight blip the rest of the prog is going great guns. Ichabod starts well. I felt a bit cheated it wasn't the western with a twist I thought it was going to be, which is probably more to do with my expectations than a fault with the story which was good. Nothing can be said about Dredd, Kingdom and Stickleback that hasn't already been said. Arsom to a strip.
QuoteI'm going to be in London in a few weeks and I'll be sitting down with ["Dredd" screenwriter] Alex Garland and the producers at DNA and you know what? What's clear to me is that there's a lot of love for Dredd. It's kind of become a cult classic. Fans are screaming out for another installment and I think it's just about finding the right package and putting it together in a way that is going to work for financiers and work for the fans.
