It was always about Miyazaki though and when he retired I did wonder if they could continue. It's better they close down than start releasing sub standard pap. The great films they made will still be there.

They often do it for trailers even if the film isn't. So fingers crossed.

Bruce Spence played completely unrelated characters in 2 and 3 and it didn't prevent 3 being a kinda sequel. Like I said though the whole Max trilogy is only tenuously linked anyway

I think they got as far as 2. Problems with Dan Dare copyright would prevent it being reprinted wouldn't it?

Not that I believe it matters considering how generic this version of a post-culture/post-apocalypse future is and it is't a sequel to the 3 OZ-based films.
I thought Miller stated it between MM1 and 2, although continuity in the films is fairly loose anyway.

I'd just read it to mean it wasn't 'Underbelly'. I'm sure with the way Underbelly sold it wont be the last though.

General / Re: Does Dredd need to be in every Prog?

Dredd isn't in every prog though is he. There have been a number of issues where he hasn't appeared in the 'Judge Dredd' strip. Usually episodes of a longer running story but the strip has proved it doesn't actually always need it's protagonist.
