Gentlemen, I'm indebted once again.

I'm doing a strip for 'Back From The Depths', which is set in 18th-19th century. Does anyone know any good resources for good, clear historical clothing references? Every time I type in pirate or smuggler or buccaneer, I get swamped with awful photos of chumps posing for cheap costume party companies doing their best Johnny Depp impression.

Very unpleasant.  Proof that god does not exist.  If he did, like any artist, he'd want to just tidy a few things up before calling it finished.

Mike, we seem to be on very similar wavelengths - I was just thinking that. If we are created in His image, what the hell was he thinking when he drew up the blueprints for the goblin shark?
