Prog / Re: Prog 1720 - Legion of the Damned!

Shaky science aside, Kingdom is #1 thrill at the moment, deffo!

Shakara comes a close second (I just drink in every bonkers detail and idea), with Dredd nipping at his heels. Ampney is good fun, but I'm losing interest in Necrophim again. Another betrayal. What a surprise.

I would heartily recommend both Necronauts and Caballistics.

Thanks for the advice my brothers. Can I reveal it's for something Matt Timson is working on? There, I couldn't help myself!

Rads - I'll definitely be checking that out, cheers mate.

Creative Common / Flatting - how much should I charge?
05 February, 2011, 11:03:36 AM
I've been asked to do some flatting for someone, and they've asked how much I'd charge per page, but I've no idea what the going rate is for something like this - anyone have any ideas?

Thought Staz's art on Dredd was excellent. Really love the quality of his linework. If I'm honest, he's more suited to Rogue than Dredd, but t was still a joy to behold. Don't agree that Chris Blythe's colours looked like something from the 90's either.

3 out of 4 strips were black & white this month too - love it! (and Peterwolf should be happy)

Film & TV / Re: Films You'd Like to See Remade...

Read recently that Sam Raimi wants to remake 'Evil Dead'. Nt sure how I feel about directors revisiting the classic that made their name 20-30 years ago and doing it all over. Why?

Other remakes I've enjoyed are Dawn of The Dead, Funny Games US and The Departed.

I'm currently colouring an original GN for the lovely chaps at ACCENT UK. The lineart is by the thoroughly talented Dan Duncan (Image, IDW), and I've blogged a few teaser panels.

Head over to http://mygrimmbrother.blogspot.com/ to check em out  :)

Fantastic stuff Mr Campbell, and a sterling effort from all concerned. Cheers for that!

Prog / Re: Prog 1718 - Escape from Devil's Island!

Thought it was a sterling prog this week. Dredd was a cracking set up, things are finally kicking off in Necrophim, Shakara is just bloody wonderful and makes me feel the way I did when reading Nemesis as a ten year old, and Ampney is an enjoyable romp.

The highlight for me - by a country mile - was Kingdom. Fascinating glimpse of the backstory, and beautifully rendered and coloured. I received the first 2 volumes of the much revered Fables today as well - something I havne't read before, and after putting down the prog and trying to get in to this I have to say the art was pedestrian at best and the writing just felt clumsy. The art picks up in volume two with Mark Buckingham, but in comparison with his Tyranny Rex again feels like it's had the life drained from it by the standard inking and flat colouring.

We really are spoiled by Tharg. That is all.

Until I saw Black Swan, either Natalie Portman or Winona Ryder showing up.

Seeing M Night Shyalaman's name pop up on the opening credits.
