You're all strange. Just put them on a shelf, it doesn't matter to the order.

Books & Comics / Re: Collecting quirks

Since getting back into buying the prog about four years ago my initial burst of collectormania was based on that. Hence my collection going from about 60 progs to 600. Outside of that my attempt at collecting was limited to buying the run of The punisher that went from the 80s into the 90s. I haven't come close to finishing this yet as I've kept myself away from the internet and only getting what I can from comic shops in an attempt to keep some money in my pocket. It also saves me from moving onto another title and collecting that as well.

Star Trek and Dr Who. I really enjoy sci-fi but neither of these programmes have ever really interested me. Dr Who wasn't helped by it ending when I was around the age that may have got into it, but the episodes I saw before that (starring McCoy) were only alright and the few minutes of the new ones I've seen hasn't interested me at all.

As for ST I watched a bit of TNG when it started on the BBC but again lost interest very quickly, and I've had no interest in watching anything else of it. Of the films I enjoyed Khan when I saw it a few years back but the silly film with the whales in seemed to be on a permanant play on ITV during my early teens and just annoyed me. Seeing the crew in 80s America just seemed like a daft idea to me.

In the most predictable turn of events England are already three wickets down in the Test match with India and clearly going to lose. Unless it rains for the next three days or we somehow learn how to play spin bowling overnight.

I've just had a look at the list of titles still to come in this series. There's an awful lot of them so they want to get a shift on. As good as they are people will eventually lose interest.

Film & TV / Re: Last movie watched...

Those comic inserts to The Warriors really do make a good film so much worse. I haven't heard one person say that they like them and it's amazing how just one change can have such a massive impact on a film.

No, I didn't think it would. There's a newsagent near my house that still carries the latest issue of this which is unheard of for one of these series. Forbidden Planet still have loads of back issues which makes it handy for any that I miss. The last few issues have been good, particularly Planet Hulk and She-Hulk, both titles which I've never had much time for in the past. The reason this has worked for Marvel is that they've actually chosen good stories for the collection. This means people will actually want to keep on buying it.

Seconded about the benefits of being an uncle. You get to do all the cool stuff with them but can then hand them back after a couple of hours when it's time for food/bed. Plus when a new Muppets film is released you can borrow one for the afternoon, get loads of brownie points for the babysitting and not have to tell anyone that you're doing it solely so you can see the film yourself.

Off Topic / Re: My Star Wars Addiction.

Where would people recommend where to buy reasonably priced Star wars toys? My nephew's interest in it is growing to the point where I will need to start buying him toys to keep him keen. I live in London if there are any shops that people think are particularly useful or am happy to buy on line. thanks for your help.

Why does the Judgement Day one feature the characters from Necropolis?

I will probably do my usual trick of spending the night in the pub so I can avoid trick or treaters. Although this doesn't always work as some kids have the cheek to come in the pub and ask for money instead of sweets.

Beyond a Boudary by CLR James. As a socialist cricket fan a book combining the two topics should be right up my street and yet it's the dullest thing I've ever read and have never been able to get to the end of it.

It sounds like absolute rubbish, so obviously I'll be tuning in to watch it.
