That's a great point TordelBack. There seems to be a lot of European mythology filtered through Slaine, and not just Irish/Celtic myths. Heck, I've even spotted a Gilgamesh reference or two (maybe coincidence, or wishful thinking?).
Part of the problem I have with Slaine is that Mills can get caught up in mythological/historical details that the script can become quite dry. I thought if there was any problem with the Horned God story, that was it - at times the action would awkwardly cease for exposition.
