Every one of those panels is arsome as far as I'm concerned.

Love the heavy inks, great atmosphere.

Hope it remains in black and white.

The model who "plays" Vivina is simply gorgeous.

I saw it last night, and it's Big Dumb Fun. I really liked it, really really liked it.

Sure, the characters were a bit weak - and a few were pretty annoying, actually - and there are loads of cliches, but if you go in expecting to see giants robots bash around with giant monsters then you'll dig it.

We've got absolutely no plans to make every issue of 2000 AD available digitally (or otherwise) or early Progs either, though we're working on making more collected editions available online in a variety of formats.

A deluxe hardback collected Bad Company, please pretty please.

And while I'm at it, how about a deluxe hardback Luke Kirby as well?!

Meanwhile, the cover artist struggles with scale.  Maybe it's an homage to McMahon-style boots, extended to gun and buckle.  Maybe.

I have to wonder why one of the classic 2000AD cover wasn't used, or even one of the great Eagle reprint covers...?

I started to read this epic string of posts (on par with some of your best Slaine posts or yore), but I felt myself slipping into a coma and had to stop midway through the second post. Well done, mayor.

I have nothing but the utmost admiration for you FQ boys, not only for the way you keep these comics rip-roaring Long, but rip-roaring along at such a quality. Well done. Every time I see this thread pop back up I can't help but smile.

I think I might be the only person left in the world who hasn't seen Avatar.

I would be led to believe that every fiber of the film's being is a rip-off of something.  ::)

I did like the bit in the pharmacy when the film rubs the audience's face in their own low expectations of humanity like it was trying to make them genuinely ashamed for assuming someone is a dirty junkie rather than an attentive father of a disabled child, then it follows up with people helping each other out all the time.

I also thought the bit with the cop was really well done as well.

But I also felt there wasn't as much PANIC in that scene as there should have been.

but don't tell me WWZ offers nothing we haven't seen before.

I mean, sure, we've never seen city/country-hopping like this in any other zombie film, but...I didn't once feel I was seeing anything original in WWZ.

I forgot to mention that the production designers and set-builders did a wonderful job of making GLASGOW of all places double for Philadelphia. I've lived in and around Philly most of my life, and had i not known those scenes were shot elsewhere, I would have assumed they were shot right downtown.

The accents, however, were laughable. The "Yo's" were cringe-worthy.  :D

Saw this last night...

There are moments throughout that work really well, and there are scenes that are genuinely intense (
the creeping through the apartment complex, the incidents at the Korean base
). But, big, are there ever so many more moments that ruin everything (
the entire Jerusalem sequence, especially the zombie leap-frog bit, is absurdly bad
). And the ending...

Abrupt.

I left feeling like I had just seen a real missed opportunity. With the budget and basic framework that the production was afforded, this could have really been an epic film. It fell far short.

I usually try to write something encouraging on its facebook wall but I honestly don't know what to say. How do you respond to yet another "should statement"?

I was pretty surprised to see the message on facebook this morning. Another delay like this really kills any kind of momentum - especially for an anthology comic - and I wonder if Strip will ever reach the potential I personally felt it had when the project was announced. It's a shame, and I hope this gets sorted out - for only for the creators' sake at this point.

I will shortly be seeking you out, Thryllseekyr (my human name is Matthew McLaughlin, so when you get the request you'll know who I am). I've noticed you've been back on the forum, and that makes me very happy.
