Actually that 6% line made me wonder what the ratio IS in the comics.

I mean sometimes you get the feeling that the Judges get everyone so you wonder why there would be any crime at all. I kinda like the idea that it is that bad which is why they have to be so severe.

And I thought the opening scene was them stamping an official "This ISNT the last Dredd movie, this guy will fuck you up"

um...... I get the feeling if I did post a link I'd get a severe knuckle rapping from the powers that be.

Just did a cold search though and found it in about 30 seconds, so good hunting  ;)

AGAIN - THIS IS FOR TALKING ABOUT THE MOVIE SCRIPT SO WILL HAVE SPOILERS AS A MATTER OF COURSE, NOT BLACKED OUT.
IF YOU DONT WANT TO KNOW ANYTHING, HIT THE BACK BUTTON

So there's been a script floating around for a few weeks now that I've gotten on good authority is genuine.

Anyone out there who is a film nerd knows how much its likely to change between now and the release, but I was surprised a quick search didnt find a thread where people were talking about this as I cant be the only one who has read it.

So my quick opener... loved it. Thought the device to isolate Dredd and make him the movie's sole focus was brilliant and the whole thing really felt like PROPER Dredd.

I'll see what Mr Reid says... its his ball after all.

Not that it'll work on the next one as 1699 is all final parts and 1700 is all new stuff.  :-\

I really enjoyed the movie but my only criticism would be Jolie was TOO damn thin which spoiled the sexy.

Its almost nothing to do with the book, which is ALL KINDS of awesome, but then I love reading Millar doing his "Action blockbuster" thing.

Not sure if Geek Syndicate would carry this sort of stuff

Well they would, coz I'd post it   :P
I've really been told I can do what I like on there and post stuff up directly anyway... for some reason they trust me with all the passwords (mental, I know... keep your eyes peeled for the naked Amy Pond photoshop gallery coming soon)

I do know though that using the Ben Willsher thing I did as an example, 2000AD were cool enough to send me the entire issue last Friday but finding an image to post up without spoiling anything is a bit tricky. There was one really cool image but its a character reveal that I figured you guys especially wouldnt want to see in advance. I probably should have put in more pics though, just his other work rather than keeping it to a 1700 image.

An interview with Matt? Well, I could ask I suppose. I do worry our so called interviews are a bit too casual though. I mean its fine me taking the piss out of Alec Worley and Leigh Gallagher as we're kind of matey, but Tharg???

Will def keep up with these little Q&A's once 1700 is done. Like I said, try and score one per prog. Commentaries is a very cool call, but depends on nagging a creator to do one as its probably quite time consuming for them. Also its whether 2000AD would be cool having an entire episode of Dredd, for example, posted on a website.

On "Forthcoming Thrills" I have blagged my way onto the 2000AD press release list so can bang these up as and when, but to be fair the GS guys... well, Barry, does this anyway when one comes through.

Thanks for the ideas guys, I'll go through again when Im a bit more awake

So ya know tho, this was just for stuff to post on the website. The podcast is enough work in the format is is in without messing with that too much. Editing is a bitch!!

That said, we do the occasional interview one so dont see why we couldnt do other odd "specials" if something cool came up.

Oh, and as someone asked for a link to the site

So I've been given pretty much free reign to post stuff up on the Geek Syndicate website which I think gets something stupid like 4 - 5,000 hits a day.

I've reviewed a few movies for them and think I'll be doing all the 2000AD book reviews (I have a copy of the Future Shock collection I'm getting stuck into tonight) but was thinking I wanted to do more to keep a regular 2000AD presence on the site.

I've done a pile of Q&A things this week for prog 1700's release, so I was thinking I could possibly try and do one of these every week, picking someone with a story in the next prog. The only alternative I can think of at the moment would be do to a weekly review of each issue, but I kinda do that on the podcast already and it'd only be a pale imitation of 2000ADreview.

That said though, if anyone else had any ARSOM ideas on keeping the flag flying, I'd love to hear them.

wish you lot would give over about The Red Seas.

Yeah, I think you hit it on the head though when you said we're tied by the format.
If we are doing 3 progs we could possibly try and lump them all together and look at the three parts as a whole so there no repetition but not all the stories lend themselves to that.

The other option when there's something we arent really digging is to just skip it completely but that doesnt seem fair. We do TRY and find good stuff to say about the ones we dont like though, even if its just "This panel was cool" or something. That said if its a story you are loving and we keep going "meh" over it then I can see it's probably annoying.

Its Cradlegrave all over again... or Dante when we record the 1700 one  ;)

In this episode the guys look at progs 1696-98 and discuss that age old question : is it the size of your gun or what you do with it?
As usual expect spoilers throughout and language not suitable for the kiddies.
