Recording with Captain Lucky Charms on Sunday and have also just tried to arrange another creator bullshit session (not calling them interviews) which will be in the next few weeks with any luck.

And as soon as the Zarjaz and Dogbreath stuff I blagged is out, I'll be looking to get Dave and Richmond of Futurequake on... seems a little self serving to do it before that

Question is.... who is gonna be the first to hunt down Alec's fighting fantasy book and give it a play through??

And just so he doesnt get ALL the attention, can I just say I played DIRT yesterday and the grass looked lovely   -cough-

Really tho, check out the 1700 cover.. fucking gorgeous! (nicked from the ARSOM covers blogspot  http://2000adcovers.blogspot.com/2010/07/prog-1700-preview.html  )

Any way you can fix the audio levels in the podcast, balance 'em out more? Rich, you sometimes sound like you're 12 inches tall, and not in the part that matters. Please?

Yeah, sorry about that. Bumped my audio up a bit on this one but it was still on the Willy Wonka side.
Got a new mic since then which is hopefully better. Think it was for the one I did with the Hod which was recorded after this one but put out first

Yeah, have to start looking for a new home for our book now. Sucks we're having to go through this again as neither of us enjoy the sales part of this.

At least we're free to have the option though

I really enjoyed this. Was a throwback to the early 90s VHS horror boom.
Big silly monsters and lots of blood and guts. Fun stuff that didnt take itself too seriously

Thought it was fair to give Statham a lot of screen time as he's about the only new guy flying the 80's action flag these days. Plus he's probably there for the girls dragged along by their blokes as the wife assures me he is serious eye candy

Read an interview with Stallone this week where he says the real reason Van Damme bailed was because he refused to lose a fight to Jet Li.

Thanks Rich. Alec and Jon made it easy and fun to do as Im no interviewer.

Been meaning to get back to Colin MacNeil who was up for doing one, but really wanted to get Flint on as well seeing as he's the art guy. Makes it a bit tricky to arrange when he's 6 or 8 hours behind.

So I'm feeling this podcast raised a few questions that need answering

1) What type of thing do you lot think makes the best Future Shock? (not asked just so I can take notes and rip you off for my next submission, HONEST!   ::)  )

2) How much Transformers knowledge is TOO MUCH Transformers knowledge?

3) Aquaman, awesome or lame and more than a little fruity?

And just to finish, from the Jon Davis Hunt Collection 2008

cant act for shit, but DAMN!

Just to jump back to the original post Im definately in the camp that while you cant make the same jokes now you could 20 or 30 years ago I dont think that reprints of old material should be amended to reflect current sensibilities.

I think people are intelligent enough to realise something is of its time and stuff shouldnt be buried because times and attitudes have changed. Its like the AWESOME old Superman cartoons which were produced while America was at war with Japan. The craft on them is amazing but the fact they were made while asians were down as the big bad makes them a little weird to watch now. I've heard people saying they should bin all the old Spirit comics as well because there is a black character in those who leans towards the stereotypical.

But yeah, racism bad... unless its aimed at the f***ing english   :-X

In this special episode we're joined by Alec Worley (King of the Future Shocks) and Jon Davis Hunt (Tempest, Transformers, 2000AD Cover Artist) to discuss their upcoming project "Age of the Wolf" which kicks off in prog 1700.
Along the way we also get into why Aquaman isnt crap (apparently), if it's possible to know the difference between G1 and G2 Transformers and still have sex with a real girl, and discuss just HOW weird Al Ewing really is.
Also lurking in there are some good tips for writers and artists looking to get their first break into the world of comics.

Hoping people go for this when it does come out. We've tried to come at each of them from a slightly different angle than normal and make each of them twisted in their own ways. Should be fun anyway and I know Conor's art wont disappoint

But if you dont like it, Im sure you'll let us know... as you should!  :D

Events / Cardiff Comic Con 2011... for REAL this time
17 August, 2010, 11:32:12 AM
So some of you might remember there was going to be a Cardiff Comic Convention this year. My lovely wife was helping to organise it, but unfortunately the guy who instigated and was paying for it turned out to be a total moron so it fell through.

HOWEVER, the much more capable team behind the Birmingham con are now onboard to make sure its done right... and again my other half is helping sort it all out.

Should be a good one and about time Cardiff got its own con

If anyone had any queries I'm happy to pass on to the other half, or you can just contact them via the email given at the link above
