Two points :
1 - Yeah, the scowl on the subs cover is a bit OTT. Not how I woulda done it, would rather an angry sneer or rip off the Judge Minty's own Judge Dredd and his "point and shout" pose than trying to pull a "comic Dredd face" but still... all cool

2 - Some people have said he's a little scrawny etc but you know what the best part is? They NEVER make films like this without signing the lead to a 3 picture deal. Dredd is one of the few comic characters where the lead ageing 10 years over the course of the trilogy will actually make the character better with time not worse. I'm happy to get a Dredd who looks case files vol1 for the first movie. See? Positives   ;)

I have two rules which allow me to continue enjoying being a comic/film nerd

I NEVER read Aintitcool News

I only go to Bleedingcool if someone posts a link to something I'm REALLY interested in and then I never read the comments or go back to the main site.

Sure lots of people like them and they do what they do well, but they seem a magnet for the worst whiney pathetic losers who have done fuck all themselves but for whom nothing is good enough. Just makes me angry and depressed

Yeah, the full things been leaked online. Its unfinished but only in as much as they havent cgi'd out the cables helping her do super jumps etc. Still totally watchable

And sure there's forum rules forbidding giving out info on where to get it but as always google is your friend

Just watched the pilot, really enjoyed it actually.
Its a total rework of the character but one I think woulda worked for an ongoing tv show.

It was funny when it tried to be and a LOT more violent than I was expecting - the hardcore fans woulda had a shit fit.

And while I thought she looked a bit blokey in stills she was fucking gorgeous. I would have definately watched the 2nd episode if they'd made one. Shame it died

Oh yeah, that all works for me, looks like the perfect way to approach all of this. As long as there's plenty of bonecrunching fisticuffs in this (Havent read the script) then this is all A-OK with me!

Dredd only calls for one group hug in the entire movie... and to be fair its when Anderson accidentally shoots a kitten and feels all "sad inside"

Some days... ok MOST days, I'm pretty sick of fanboy culture, but going through this thread and seeing everyone just excited and happy to see Dredd being made is pretty damn cool

thanks gents (and any ladies I missed.. in which case... hellooooo ladies)

assuming you're not some loon who obsesses and nitpicks endlessly over stupid details, that is.

In all fairness, that comment applies to most of us

LOL.... cant argue with that one  :)

Nah, fair do's. I've let him know  :P

Trying to get him to do a quick Q&A for the site as well. He plays Judge Guthrie apparently

Just got sent a message from an actor who worked on the film saying the cover image ISNT Urban.

Its hard to tell as he's obviously pulling "The Dredd Face" but he could be right. I'm far from 100% sure its him.

Those are awesome! Especially that second Urban one on this page.

Hope you'll understand if I immediately post these on my website thingie  :)

hang on... maybe Orlok IS Scojo!!!

(gotta love a good conspiracy theory)
#793
Ok... not saying we should fear the demonic powers of the Scojo, but yesterday he sent me this pic

Again... that was YESTERDAY. When she was alive.

As once was said to great effect in The Fly... Be Afraid, be Very Afraid
