...Juliette Lewis looking like a spaced out skanky ho...

Wait - is that the part she's acting, or are you just speaking generally? Coz either works, in my opinion. ;)

Yes, Cthulouis - that book gives you the complete 'Last Stand Of The Wreckers.'

The book is largely self contained, although it does jump off of the previously established IDW continuity.

All you need to know, basically, is that prior to that story there's been a MASSIVE turnabout in the war, the good guys have basically been beaten down to the point of extinction, and the girl who shows up keeping company withe the Transformers is one of three previously established (well written) human sidekicks.

It's a brilliant book if you like to see stories that focus on obscure characters, and full of unobtrusive nods to stuff the hardcore fanboys will enjoy. It's also EXTREMELY violent and gritty as hell. Jame Roberts and Nick Roche are quite possibly two of the best Transformers writers out there.

Go on! Dooooo iiiit!

Poop.

Was gonna register on the Millarworld forums, so as i could offer my above-average lettering services for pitches, paid projects and such. But the sign-up requires me to give my real name.

Uh-uh. No way. Not gonna happen. I am THAT much of a privacy freak.

Still, at least my slender grip on the pro circuit means I can register with Comic Art Auctions instead. Huzzah!

and most importantly Christopher Walz gives the best bad guy I've seen in years.

He's bloody brilliant, ain't he? His first scene was absolute genius!

Top movie. Well worth a watch for those who haven't seen it!

There was also talk that Simon Furman carrying on the story from the Marvel comics as well at IDW.

I knows about this, I does!

There's a Facebook petition for this, and best I can tell, the super-nice Mr. Furman is up for doing this.

There's a precedent for this sort of thing, as IDW also hold the license to GI Joe and are already publishing 'GI Joe: A Real American Hero', which is a direct continuation of the old marvel GI Joe comics.

Basically, if enough people sign the petition, it'll send the message that this is a viable project for IDW.

So, if'n y'all are innerest'd, go find the Facebook petiton and sign it!

I believe there's been talk of the current license holder, IDW, reprinting the old US AND UK runs in the near future, if that helps.

Personally, I FAR prefer the stuff they're putting out now. But I hope that helps!

Asked my aunt today what the appeal of that bloody annoying 'made In Chelsea' TV show was.

'I like to see what's going on in the lives of real people' came the reply.

I don't even know where to begin with that one.

Y'know, I gotta say - before it comes off as I only have lukewarm / negative stuff to say about the Ms. Marvel stuff  - the way the collections are handled is really great. Annuals and specials are in there as well as the core stories. I approve.

And in fact, one volume contains the one shots 'Scavengers' and 'Return Of The Storyteller' - both very fine efforts.

'Scavengers' co-stars Spider Man, and is a lot of fun just for the spiky banter the two heroes sling back and forth. 'Return of The Storyteller is just a masterfully written comic with some neat ideas in it. It's a really amusing flight of fancy.

Decided to continue my dabbling with super hero comics by grabbing the entire collection of Ms Marvel trades.

The quality veers from 'somewhat lame' to 'really quite brilliant' - on the whole, I'm enjoying this stuff. But I'll say this - Marvel's habit of embroiling their characters in massive, multi-title crossovers and events is REALLY annoying.

So - as with Astonishing X Men before it, this confirms my feeling of 'quite good fun, but never again.'

Ven Helsing is brilliant fun. I'd deck anyone who said different if I didn't have this chronic case of RSI.

Last movies I watched were Green Hornet - I had low expectations, and it was utterly fantastic. Also saw 'Grown Ups', which was a fun slice of good natured nonsense, and 'Due Date' which was a helluva lot better than reviews had led me to believe. Robertt Downey Jr plays those sorts of roles really well. he's uncomfortably believable as an irascible  douchebag.

Ow. My hands.

My favourite overheard quote from the train to Bristol - dim girl student with that annoying upwards inflexion that makes everything sound like a question:
"We had a rabbit? And it was, like, gay? 'Cos it raped my gerbil to death?

That's one of the best posts I ever saw here!

My aunt is visiting at the moment, and she demanded that we watch a DVD tonight. She decided on Iron Man.

Dear. Sweet. Holy. Mother. Of. Mercy. I had to explain FIVE TIMES that Iron Man isn't a robot, he's a guy in a mechanical suit. She just didn't get it. Even when it cuts to Robert Downey Jr. in the suit's interior, she was saying 'Well where is he, then? What's all that computer stuff? What's that got to do with the robot?'

All this from someone who could maybe, JUST maybe pick that stuff up if she didn't gab ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE BLOODY MOVIE!!!

I am so relieved that this appears to be dying the death it so richly deserves.

Ahh, Dragon's Claws...

I was a fan, back in the day.
