Holy COW, Tordelback - that is some first class stupidity in that last post!

It's the sort of 'divorced from reality' reasoning that makes me cry with laughter. I used to hear BS like at the student parties I went to all the time.

Personal favourites of mine from those dismal days are:

'No, no - you're wrong. The problem in Ethiopia was never that there wasn't enough food. It was EDUCATION. There was plenty of food. It's just that nobody knew how to COOK it.'

and:

'If your business is struggling and you don't have money coming in, why don't you just pay yourself a salary?'

The last one came from a trained and qualified accountant. She was also of the 'very pretty, but proportionally dumb' variety.

I agonised over this, as I'm a busy, BUSY man right now, but...

Hell yeah. I'm in. An idea hit me like a bolt out of the blue last night, so I'll be tying that up over the rest of the week.

I'm surprisingly fired up for it!

I'm sort of surprised that there hasn't been more mention of Harry Dean Stanton showing up briefly.

Dude's a legend.

Well. I should be asleep now. But I'm not. Because I just watched Thor.

I actually enjoyed this movie a lot more than I thought I would. Probably moreso than Captain America, which I thought was solid if slightly lacking in storytelling punch.

Anthony Hopkins, great as usual.
Rene Russo (still gorgeous) also great.
Eyepopping visual effects - eyepopping.
Thor getting tasered mid-Asgardian-posturing - priceless!

I'm continually amazed when I see stuff like this - excellent effort! And that's some quality paint job, too!

I feel now is a good time for me to confess that... [GULP!] I... only buy the trade collections.

The reason being, mainly, that I am just buying so much stuff in trade format, and my bookcases are already heaving. If I tried to pick up any more than the scant few monthlies I'm picking up now, I'd be hard pressed to afford it.

In fact, I'm ALREADY hard pressed to afford it - I should be dropping stuff instead of picking up new titles.

Just watched alien vs predator 2 and I loved it...

I enjoy the AVP flicks more than most, particularly the much maligned second film. Don't know why folks rag on them so much.

I think the first movie loses something with every re-watch, personally... but the second is a solid effort. The only issue I have with it is the brutal offing of the kid and the woman in teh maternity ward. That stuff was just gratuitous and added nothing to the story.

On the plus side - Predator power punch makes me grin from ear to ear!

Sure thing, Locusts - sling me a copy by all means. I believe you have my email address?

My life is Drokking Fantastic because I just finished the preliminary lettering on one of the most gruelling books I've worked on in my short, inglorious freelance career.

Did it in two evenings, to boot. Phee-ew!

It's totally cool - because I'm intent on not watching it and enjoying the books and movie I already have. ;)

That bike is one of the coolest damned things in science fiction.

(And as such represents yet one more reason why Hollywood must NOT remake said movie.)

Shy chicks just have to look good.

Alternatively, shy / single peeps of the world can just work on being friendly.

What Judo says above is, all joking on my part aside, very true. Folks seem to have their heads full of all sorts of guff about how to impress and win over the opposite sex. But if you can't simply hold a conversation, you're scuppered.

If'n ya can't be friends, you'll NEVER be lovers, after all.
