chicks dig confidence! X x

Whereas men dig chick who turn up on time, aren't up themselves to a colossal degree and don't expect us to be Richard bloody Gere.

I mean, honestly - WHY is this stuff so hard?

(All said with tongue firmly in cheek.)

Books & Comics / Re: DC to relaunch with 52 #1's

I'm still picking up Batgirl and Blue Beetle, which were the only books that really grabbed me in a 'must read more' sense.

Not getting the hate that's directed at these books. I can't comment on how they compare to previous material, as I've read none of it. But in their own right, they're both damned good, fun comic books.

General / Re: Life Spugs because...

Cheaper to shoot the dog, no?

(No, I don;t mean that!)

My life spugs at the moment because I woke up this morning to find both of my legs COVERED in itchy red welts. Went to take a shower and, to my horror, more appeared on my back and belly.

I'm thinking this is a reaction to something. I'm also thinking it ITCHES LIKE HELL!!!

I went out with a lass who looked a lot like Lisa Kudrow's fitter sister for a bit. Alas, it never worked out (actually, I take that back - thank GOD it never worked out - she was bloody horrible in the end!) but i've always taken pride in the fact that, when I got to know her, she was going out with a rugby player. Who she dropped, in an instant. For me.

Surely that sort of thing is supposed to happen the other way around?

Cheers, Stront.

Unfortunately, neither are on my 'to do' list this year for financial reasons.

The one I was waiting for news on was the Birmingham Comic Con - which took place last year under the name of BC2011. I'd have hoped for more news of that one by now.

Yup, this is true.

Currently keeping an eye on a couple of events... but no news as yet.

You guys do know everything!  That's the one.  I think I saw it on tv, back in Japan.   Either that or someone in my old house rented it from the video shop.  There certainly wasn't much whizz or bang in it, but I really liked it.

The movie did get a VHS release over here from Manga Entertainment - but no DVD, alas.

I know a few folks who were really interested in lobbying for a UK / European re-release, but it just wasn't gonna happen. Manga lost the rights to the movie, I believe, and the European arm of Ban-died weren't of the opinion that it would sell.

It really is a truly great little movie, and it's eminently re-watchable.

I went on a date once with a girl who - I unfortunately didn't know this at the time - had been a stage dancer for a touring band NOTORIOUS for their consumption and distribution of all manner of drugs.

Midway through our date - in the beer garden of a local pub on a bright, sunny afternoon, surrounded by people - she had a full-on LSD flashback, and leapt onto the wooden table, shrieking and howling like a banshee. I got up and left immediately.

Well done Cyberleader!

Fairly and squarely her loss. Take a while now to just enjoy life, and process the fact that after all was said and done, nothing weird happened.

What bugs me is how tricky it seems to be to find out about these things in advance.

I can't get to an event unless I can book travel / accommodation at least a few months in advance. My finances just don't permit me to do that sort of thing. There's a good number of these conventions I'd liek to get along to in due course, but without a bit of warnng, it ain't gonna happen.

(Note that I'm still new to the whole convention scene - maybe I'm overlooking something glaringly obvious. i do stuff like that.)

Superb news! Hope this turns out to be a long-lived venture!

Does indeed sound like Wings of Honneamise - an absolutely fantastic movie, but very tricky to find unless you're possessed of branson-level wealth.

TIP: if you can find the USA Manga Entertainment DVD release, it's actually not region coded, so will play on European DVD players.

I once dumped a girl when she tried the classic "Its not you its me" line...
I then said 'yeah i know, it is you' and walked off

I like your style!
