QuoteI'm amazed at how much Avatar has in common with the story. Oh Jim.

I'm struggling to see any similarities other than 'poisonous atmosphere' and 'blue people'.....

A futuristic Sci-fi battle where these blue scientifically altered people are the only ones with the ability to breath in the planets atmosphere. A lone hero goes rogue and fights against the ones who made him. That's quite a chunk taken from the major plot.  :D

What'r you talkin' bout? Pratchett is #1. What you do is see, is read them again.  :D

But seriously I'm not sure who to recommend. I don't read often enough unless it's Pratchett or certain comics I like such as the Phantom, Judge Dredd, Strontium Dog and the Goon.

I just got Wii version today in the mail. I live down under and had to order it from the U.K. as it's not available here. I was happy to find it works and it only cost me $21 AU in total with shipping and all.

I've already played through a few levels. Right up to where he receives the bio-chip for his helmet. For a Wii shooter it's really well made. Still I'd prefer to use two analogue sticks.

This is my first venture into the world of Rogue Trooper. I'm amazed at how much Avatar has in common with the story. Oh Jim.

QuoteI was disappointed after I learned it was incomplete.

Well to be fair, it's not through choice that they have left out the two episodes in question.

Yeah which was unfortunate. When I found that out I looked into it. Some people just don't get satire. Even when it's set well into the future.

Still would it be wrong of me to supply links to the PDF's I made?

he could also get away from earth (past, present or future) a bit more often.

It probably all comes down to the budget. I dunno'.

Books & Comics / Re: Whats everyone reading?

I'm about half way through Strontium Dog Agency Files vol.1 I've never read any SD before. I had only listened to the audio dramas starring Simon Pegg.

I mean vol. 2 not 1.

I was never sure if I should upload the print ready PDF 's or not. Not like any money is to be made and the people would like to read the whole story in there books. I was disappointed after I learned it was incomplete.

Racking my brain, there's also the infamous banned Burger Wars/Green Giant episodes from The Cursed Earth that have never been reprinted anywhere, and with good reason (progs 71-72 I think).

They're hardly essential though - more of a curio.

When I realized there were missing pages from vol. 1 I made my own booklets with downloaded versions and inserted them into the book.

I couldn't work out why they didn't have Nigel Planer as Rincewind in CoM, especially as they did cast him as someone else in it. I've always seen Rincewind as a Nigel Planer character.

If you'd like to see a Nigel Planer type of Rincewind then take a gander at this.

I illustrated this a couple years ago. The Planer likeness was an accident.

Earlier this year I updated the same illustration.

In the current SFX Pratchett is quoted as saying that he was pushing them to do the second Lipwig book but they are keen to do Sourcery. Seems pretty definite that they are doing something though.

Hopefully they'll cast Rincewind more appropriately. They'll probably change the ending by not
trapping Rincewind in the Dungeon Dimension
unless they plan to follow it up with Eric.

Those are great Cpt Rhodes. I wish I could paint as cool as that.

This is my first ever published comic book work. It's cover B to The Phantom: Ghost Who Walks #3 which was published last year sometime by Moonstone Books. Looking at it now I'd have drawn the lines differently. I'm also a lot better at colouring comics than I was back then.

I love the angle at which you have drawn/painted it puggdogg, not the usual shot of Dredd but very atmospheric.

Keep it up!

Thanks CF. Yeah usually Dredd is shown in a more dynamic pose. But being a teaser poster I didn't want to over do it. Full on advertisements are more appropriate I feel. I like how it shows that Dredd is either on a mission or returning from one even in the dead of night. :)

Nice. Love that portrait shot.
Thanks Darren. I was thinking about trying out some other possible actors to use as reference. Maybe Ron Perlman.

Back in 1935 when Lee Falk created the first super-hero the Phantom, the suit design was influenced by professional wrestlers who were like heroes to kids back in the day. I guess they still are now. The following year the Phantom was published which led to the countless super-heroes wearing tight binding body suits.
