I think that is an incredible achievement really when you think about it[meltdown man].Especially these days when strips seem very short sometimes. It would be nice to see a really long epic strip again in 2000ad .I cant see it ever happening again though.I would love to see the original Alan Hebden script as well.I wonder if Rebellion know of its whereabouts? if it still exists of course.

It was said in the Ian Rankine interview that out there somewhere there is a comic strip that has been written for you.I only wish it was twice the length it was.I always think Meltdown Man was killed off abruptly as i get the impression everyone was tired of it by the end.

Those were some incredible pictures and i have never seen anything like it and i never knew that was under the beach but i presume it is the stormwater tunnel. A 100 meters below the beach.Thats over 300 feet. That is quite deep.

 Thanks for posting the pics.

Another double post and a bit off topic.

I have a building plot in Brighton that is connected to a secret network of tunnels .I havent smashed through the bricked up entrances yet to see exactly whats behind them but apparently they run up and down the street and its a long street. There are tunnel networks all under this area as the local geology is chalk which is easy to tunnel through and very stable.

It would be good to install a sliding brick wall.It would be a good headquarters for the resistance if there is a fascist takeover of the uk.

It looks really interesting but i am out of cash at the moment.

If anyone has seen the film called  D Tox there is also an ex military base featured in that too except this one was up in the mountains hidden by forest.I would be more interested in that rather than being in a dessert.

Perhaps when all these hollywood studios doing remakes of previous films run out of films to remake they could go back to the beginning again and remake all the remakes all over again instead of coming up with an original idea.

A remake of The Shining is just a little bit pointless.I havent seen the remake and i dont want to either.

As for Escape From New York i never liked that film much in the first place.I remember seeing that film at the cinema with my dad and was very disappointed in it.I also didnt like escape from LA either.

I did once see a very interesting docu on the making of The Wicker Man.It was all about the filming of it and how they had to do a lot of improvisation to create the settings etc.It was just unbelievable how they managed to pull that one off and create a film that is actually convincing and disturbing.Just about everything a major hollywood film studio failed to replicate in  its remake of.

The only remake that i will say is any good and actually added something to the original was the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It managed to be quite convincing as was the original. The idea of adding the archive footage to the beginning and end of the film was quite clever.

Watching the remake of the Wicker Man killed off any curiosity i had about remakes.

I have never seen any of the Halloween films nor Friday the 13th either.

My last post was a bit of a lie as i was commissioned by Bob Geldof to draw him as Slaine because thats his fave 2000ad character.

Honestly  .  Honest thats the truth !    Honestly its really true.

I find it very difficult to draw faces for some reason and i think slaine isnt too pleased about this one either and neither am i TBH.This is the really the first human i have drawn.I have been drawing non humans up until now and robots etc.The bob geldof look has ruined this pic in my opinion.

After all that I would have to say that out of all those styles and versions that while not being *the* definitive version i like the Belardinelli version the most.I suppose thats a predictable answer .Also i think i was wrong about Glenn Fabrys  Slaine and may have been confusing Glenn with another artist.I have a feeling it may have been Simon Bisley instead when i said Steroid enhanced.

As for McMahons Slaine i think thrylseekers description of his version of slaine as "Wood cut slaine " is very accurate. There is something similar to woodcutting in his art style but until now i havent been able to put it into words before.Lino cutting is similar. Its something about the shading that does it .Its just very sharp looking.I havent ever been that mad on McMahons artwork myself but thats just personal taste.I need to see more takes on Slaine before i can make a final decision.

Also on Thryllseekers post there was a link that said perfect sense of anatomy. Not sure what you mean about that as there wasnt much on that link.

Also there was that Leonardo Da Vinci picture.I dont like that either.I never have liked that picture. There is just something about it.I think the anatomy is wrong myself if thats supposed to be a perfect example.

I just need to see more examples.

I am a massive massimo fan but i have to say that his version of Slaine  was a bit of a lightweight on the physical side in terms of muscle.I have no idea why as plenty of other massimo characters have plenty of it.Going to the opposite extreme i think Fabrys slaine had too much muscle and just looked exaggerated.

I havent actually seen much McMahon Slaine but he seems to be the winner so far and if that cover with the Trex is anything to go by i can see why.

A few of the other artists mentioned whose work on Slaine i am unfamiliar with but I know Simon Bisleys style from a 2000ad special that featured the ABC warriors.I liked that so i should like his take on Slaine.

I also think that there is no argument about Belardinelli drawing the best Warp Spasms ever.
