 Some interesting points there but its from a writers perspective and not a young kid reading the comic who isnt that interested in politics. I disagree with his points about the early run of comics but how early is early ?

 A lot of his gripes are about plagiarism or being there first with ideas that were groundbreaking.


 I thought the comic married high art [the artwork] and low art [action] perfectly and if 2000ad had been to wordy or deep or too intellectual it would have alienated its audience a bit too much IMHO so a bit of perspective is needed there particularly getting the comic off the ground in the first place when the marketplace was full of kids comics or war comics.


However, if the only good that came out of the comic (if this is true) was Alan Moore, [its *not* true].



 I heard here that some of the strips that i particularly like were greenlighted or commisioned while Pat Mills wasnt editing or in control of 2000ad so as much as i like Pat Mills i am eternally grateful that he wasnt involved at that time.


 My brother was a massive Micheal Moorcock and had the entire library which partly explained his fixation with Hawkwind.I never read any myself [mild attention deficit disorder].He was also a reader of the prog but only in  quick flick through and that was it kind of way .

 I saw that yesterday and very nearly posted it myself.

 The Chinese secret police in blue tracksuits will be round shortly.

 I never read the comments but had a feeling but commented anyway as if its media from the US it gets harder and harder to tell the difference between a spoof and something thats real.

 How that organisation allowed this to happen is unbelievable.

 They should have just said no in the first place as it was unprecedented and totally unreasonable.


 That would have resulted in a court case which would have dragged on and on.


 How they let an 8 yr old run rings around them i just dont understand and then you have to consider the kids family and their part in this and how they didnt put a stop to it being the parents who have automatic power of Attorney over their child.


 Absolutly immoral and it could only happen in the us.


 Its not the kids fault but it makes you wonder if [or certain that] the parents are the main instigators in this as i doubt an 8 yr old would have any understanding of the legalities that are being exploited.


 The parents should be held publicly responsible for the resulting bankruptcy and if there was any decency in the Government in the US then they would save the organisation from bankruptcy.


 After all they could afford it since they have a yearly defence budget of 713.1 Billion USD.

 My carefully thought out and worded post has been lost forever because of the thumbs up/thumbs down system on threads.Suffice to say i will not be defeated so here we go again:

 You may or may not know that Scotland Yard are conducting an independant inquiry/intelligence/evidence gathering in order to present a case to the war Crimes courts in the Hague in order to prosecute Blair etc for war crimes.


 This is ongoing.


 During the minutes of that press conference  some interesting points were raised about how taxpayers money has and is being used to fund an illegal war/genocide in Iraq /Afghanistan and how you can if you wish have your tax payments held in custody  by a court of law of your choosing for ethical reasons and also because it is a criminal offence for you and i and everyone else to pay taxes to a government that commits war crimes until such a time that inquiry/war crimes tribuneral has reached its verdict.


 There were some rather odd misguided comments about Iraq /the military on another thread very recently that were very sensibly ignored.They dont reflect my views as the way i see it the armed forces have been lied to and misled and used to further a private hidden agenda the same as the electorate of the UK.So are therefore absolved of any war crimes not disregarding normal rules of war.


 If anyone has a passing interest in current affairs and politics should find this interesting and i have a duty to spread the word.

  I deeply regret posting the Avengers Handbook here as it is rubbish.

 Someone recommended it and i posted it without investigating it thoroughly so just ignore it.As i will any further recommendations from aforesaid individual.


 I dont go in for the whole revenge ethos anyway as lifes too short .

 Oh dear ! Archibald Campbell really does need to do  his homework and keep up with current events before he starts blaming Johnny foreigner for all his countries problems.This i believe is Xenophobia.

  You obviously have not heard of NAFTA [North American Free Trade Agreement].This means  Shock .......Horror....That you will soon be opening up your countries border with Mexico and those left wing liberals in Canada.This has been going on since 1994.Mexicans have pretty much been walking in and out of the USA for years now anyway.


 Besides your books and propaganda isnt really about exploiting and corrupting young childrens minds for political purposes now is it ? Of course its not.
