Prog / Re: 1507 - Monsters inside. Or wha...

A good Prog, but with Stone Island slipping into full-on WTF mode last week, it's down a notch.  Nice pace of change though, with thrills coming and going all over the shop.

Chiarascuro A good enough opening, and I'm sure there's a lot more gore coming up soon.  As for that big spiky pot thing - obvious?  Never!

Dante A great episode, reminding me just how much I like centre spreads - we just don't get enough of 'em these days!  And the last page says it all: Moan all you like, you'll miss me when I'm gone!.  *Sniff*

Stone Island I was really enjoying this up to last week, and now it just got worse.  Who the hell's the guy in the second-to-last page?  Have we seen him before, or did he just come out of nowhere?  Anyway, a disappointing ending, and I'm just going to pretend to myself that it was all something to do with an indian burial ground.

Dredd Does no harm having this at the back of the Prog.  I'm not a stickler for reading the thrills in order of appearance anyway, and sometimes it's good to save the best 'til last.

Sixmo, Logan: that Shanty Town call was a good one - looking forward to that coming up in the Case Files!

Oh - and can I just say that the only thing missing from Radiator's picture is a foil-wrapped cucumber down the trouser leg, a la Spinal Tap.  Maybe in the animated adventures...?

So many great efforts here, it's really hard to choose three from this bunch.  An honourable mention goes out to everyone who took part - these threads, and the efforts they inspire, are a credit to the board.  However, I'll cut to the chase.

In pole position is Radiator. For me, this captures the thrills of the strip at it's height, and the look would make for a great animated series for kids, even if there's huge amounts of violence and all the ladies run around in the nip.

Lord Running Clam - mainly for the pencils of Tsar Vladimir, which I think is cracking.

Dog Deever Jr. made a fine effort, and his Dante has those come-to-bed eyes that drive the girls crazy!

Well done all!

Well done, Penguin - and well played all!  This has been good fun, and if we decide to have round two at some point, I'd be up for it.

As for what next, I'd suggest a Buttonman convention in a pub somewhere, and then a spell of retirement.  In the meantime, Johnny Dial will be listing his collection of fingers on eBay any day now.

Johnny Dial took Bolt01's last marker this morning - justice of a sorts for that bad business with Karl Heinrich.  I have a feeling Penguin may pounce soon, but it's been a good run up to now; well played all!

Johnny Dial turned over a new leaf and revived a still activeBolt - only for him to then go and kill a retired buttonman on revive duty?  For shame!  What, were there no puppies that needed drowning?  Boooo, hisss, etc.  As soon as I get revived, I'll be on the case, Watch.

Bolt - you've been revived by - wait for it - Johnny Dial.  Obviously he's tired of the killing, wracked by guilt, etc.

Penguin - are you dead again?  Zombie, PKer or Buttonman?  I hope you didn't fall out of a window - you'd never live it down in this business.

The Killer Penguin strkes again!  Bah!  Now it's just Penguin, Bolt, Malcolm and Johnny Dial - each with one marker left...  This can't last much longer, eh?  I think we should find a cosy pub for a Buttonman Knees-Up after the dust settles...

Johnny Dial's got some bad news for Lionel Blair and Bolt-01 this morning.  Ran into Lionel, took care of business and on my way out stumbled on Bolt.  Couldn't get far and didn't want to take the risk of leaving him alive so had to serve him a lead salad.  Sorry fellas!

Bolt - Harry Ramsden lost three markers and is retired, isn't he?

By my reckoning, the remaining active Buttonmen are you, Penguin, Lionel Blair, Malcolm and Johnny Dial.

Three cemeteries in Quarlesbank, and the one at [25, 2] is an active RP.  Handily located between two NT buildings (2 clicks from each).
